Special Abilities

  • Object (Not considered living or nonliving. Immune to critical hits and not subject to commander effects. Cannot receive Force points, special abilities or Force powers from any source.)
  • Airborne Contagion (Whenever a living character in this skirmish is defeated, it is replaced with an Undead version of itself that sets up in the same spot. This follows all the same rules as The Sickness. Characters with Breathmask, Biohazard Suit, Advanced Biohazard Suit and Armored Spacesuit are immune to this effect.)
  • Damage Reduction 10 (Whenever this character takes damage, reduce the damage dealt by 10. Attacks with lightsabers ignore this special ability.)
  • Emplacement (Cannot move or be moved. Set up anywhere on your half of the battle map.)

Commander Effect

Undead are subject to this effect: Living allies suffer -2 Attack and -2 Defense and must save 10 upon activation or suffer 10 Damage. Undead allies get +2 Attack and +2 Defense.

So, here we have a very experimental piece. It's meant to represent an object, a broken canister, that is leaking the virus from Project Blackwing. I was very apprehensive about making a piece that affected the entire map, but as it is, essentially any living character (allied or enemy) who dies becomes a zombie (in accordance with the rules of the special ability The Disease).

Living allies suffer a -2 to Attack and Defense to represent their already-semi-infected state, and they can kill living enemy units before eventually becoming undead themselves. This is meant to be an insentive for the enemy to seek out and destroy the canister. The reason for its high cost is to offset these effects and ensure that a player would likely not have more than one on his squad. All in all, a piece I'm still fine-tuning and would appreciate some commentary on.

And, of course, it's Imperial, keeping with the lore, as Project Blackwing and the canisters were Imperial.

very dynamic piece for scenarios - what size is the base/terrain tile? it would be great as a 3x2 or a 6x2 area, and well worth the 45pts. If it was a 3x3 large vehicle base, that'd be cool too. smaller base sizes, oughta be cheaper a little (this is more expensive than your mandalorian beasties). 9.4/10, for the synergy and fun playtesting ahead.

Yes, perhaps a larger base would do

Nice, I would add to airborne contagion that "characters with breath mask are immune to this ability" because sweet

Ah, yes, I forgot. I also need to add that my Biohazard Suits from my Bio-Cleanup Troopers would be immune to it as well.

Good startup to your zombies. Also, would Armored Spacesuit and things of that sort be immune? They can go in space and would probably have their own air. If you wanted, you could make a compact version which could be carried by a character instead of being implanted. If you wanted to decrease the cost, you could put a range on the contagion ability and the CE.

I think most of those are covered in the FAQ; Ririp has been meticulously thorough with these zombies (and the Cantina brawl set) = ) hopefully there'll be more discussion and weird playtest scenarios for troubleshooting.
