Special Abilities

  • Ranged Defense Expert +4 (Whenever this character is targeted by a nonadjacent enemy, he gets +4 to save rolls against that enemy's attack and special abilities that turn)

There's a lot of yes here, but I will say no to Twin Blaster 20 and recycled commander effect. Using a blaster 1 time in the movies doesn't seem enough justification for TB20, plus he has the kickbutt Push4.

@ Saber1: The Epic Luke Skywalker has TB20; when did Luke show his skill with a blaster? Defeating a few Stormies in Episode IV? Yeah, Obi only used a blaster once in Episode III, however, he still showed how effective he was using one.

I am fine with twin blaster mostly because if you use twin blaster more than once you are probably not playing the character right. It would be funny to have an ability called "So Uncivilized" and say Usable Once per Skirmish, replaces attacks, sight: Make 2 attacks against 1 enemy..... if both hit the second is considered a critical." However my main problem lies in having RD+4, Mettle, SSM, Renewal 2, and Motf 2. That means his first save is a 7 and his second save is a 3.... and his third save is a 3 as well.. but he never did get hit by blaster fire that I know of, so maybe it is fine.

Not Epic enough. This guy is just a little better than Obi-Ani. Base stats are identical. Have to ponder this, I will.

a little better? he is a ton better.. renewal 2 and mettle make this guy over the top. He will never die unless against direct damage. The only thing I can think of to add to him would be like Jedi reflexes or Force-attuned reflexes

The difference with epic Luke is that he was packing and even wielding a blaster until the end of Cloud City. Obi didn't carry a blaster, clearly found them objectionable, and only used one once in E1-6 due to dire need and random opportunity. Besides, youve given him a really good ranged option in Force Push 4.

I'd rather see some version of jen'ari's So Uncivilized if you are set on a blaster ability. Something like "So Uncivilized: If this character would be defeated from damage due to an attack make two immediate attacks against the attacker at +11 Attack and 20 Damage. If both attacks hit, the second is considered an automatic critical hit and prevent the damage this character would take from the interrupted attack. Usable once per skirmish." This might need a bit of clean up but you get the idea.

A little better is an understatement. Tons better and never die are over statements. There are a fair number of abilities/force powers to get around SSM, even with Mettle. Still need something with SSM to indicate Mace calling him "the master".
