Too be honest, I'm a bit more interested in using the potential new models for this game.

Me too.

In fairness, I will acknowledge that if the game were fun, and not too costly, I would check it out if others were playing it locally. That would be better than having a dead SWM group, and no time to try to resuscitate it as is my situation currently.

The info we had was indirect. Someone inquired about the license and was told by LFL it was already sold. As far as I know, that information is still correct. Games take years to develop and prepare, so it doesn't surprise me that we haven't heard anything yet. But honestly, I'm not real concerned about it. I'm not buying another game (although if the scale is right, I'll buy some for customs) and I love what we are doing with the V-sets.

I agree. Thanks to everyone who is helping keeping the game going. I appreciate your efforts!

I started playing SWM in January of this year and totally love the game. From my perspective as a newcomer to the game who is accostomed to ONLY purchasing boosters at the 40%-50% prices initially and now down to $3.99 each when I can find them, I would think anyone trying to continue this game from where Wizards left off would have an incredibly difficult task in front of them.

I'm not trying to throw a wet blanket on the potential of getting new sculpts (that in particular would be awesome) or ruining anyone's fun but it just seems like the market for the product would be messed up. I can guarantee you I would not be dropping $15 on a booster pack anytime soon.

Besides, the Wizards game had the benefit of the films the Clone Wars TV series and more. Unless new things are coming out any new company won't have any new material to work off of.

I wish Wizards would have continued making the game but at this point I think it's likely that nothing new will be coming out, at least not to continue the existing game.

Any new game would also have the benefit of the Clone Wars show, as well as other new stuff coming out.

And just remember, the cheap boosters won't last forever.

I heard a rumor that all the R&R, BOT and Epic cards are in boxes at Engineer's house.

Oh wait, that is true. There are 14 boxes sitting in my foyer. If you want your set early, just stop by Thursday before 11 am. :)

D'oh. Wish I'd seen sooner. I was in Michigan before Thursday 11 am.(might have been near Kalazamoo too)Flapper

One of the guys at the LGS here adamantly claims that Jasco (or someone with a name similar to that) has the licence. Who the heck is Jasco?

Lets hope its not a game based ONLY around the clone wars. Or one meant for children. It can happen.

Jasco Games does CCG games, it seems. It's possible.

IIRC the press release from mongoose when they said they didn't get the license, they did say that whoever did get it,wasn't known for making minitures..

I don't want a card game .... Sadness Sad
I am also hoping that neca gets the license as they do a lot of theme packs AND since they used the same game mechanics for heroclix - I think - then maybe they can do the same for minis

But that's just optimism on my part, as Wotc does own the D20 system

Another thing I wanted to bring up, I had heard that the reason wizards rejected the license wasn't marketing or money but simply a pissing match between them and lucas....as stated Wotc owns D20.....and the system was used unlicensed in the kotor games, which angered wizards enough to let the license expire....is this just web gossip or is there any merit to it?
