I understand that. But there are very few figures that it works out okay that way. You can't do any figure that has situational affinity or figures that have affinity for Mandos. Just to start with. It gets pretty complicated once you get down to it, and tough to keep track of.

I'm just saying if there's a promo card, it's more useful (to me at least) if the duplicated card is a card that can be in multiple factions. Emphasis on the word DUPLICATED - exactly the same. I'm not saying to change the card at all... except maybe the flavor text like they did for Mace/Wookiee Jedi. I don't understand what you mean about Mandos. If I had a second Jaina SotJ card, I'd store it with my Mando cards. That obviously doesn't mean she can be in a Sith squad.

Okay, sorry. I thought it was still about printing a new version of figs with Affinity with their faction changed on the card.

gwek wrote:Does that apply to Mace and the Wookiee Jedi, or to future promos? Both. It would be great if you ran some sort of tourney and these were the prizes. Larger events get more/different cards. Promos are not needed to play, but they are a great way to increase attendance without "hurting" a player who does not have them. (promo not LE's)

That's a cool idea, and like Sithborg said was thought about, but in a lot of cases it does actually effect gameplay. For example, right now you wouldn't be able to put Jaina in a Sith squad with Ulic, but if she were Mando with NR affinity, you could. Not at all - I just meant if you're going to duplicate a card, make it a card that has affinity so that we can store copies of the card with different factions. For example, I put one Wookiee Jedi card with Republic and another with Old Republic (since it has Affinity). The second Mace card isn't really useful, though. Ohhh, gotcha. I think Sithborg and I were just confused because we thought you were talking about an idea which had already been brought up and discussed elsewhere. That's not a bad idea, but one of the big reasons we choose specific promos is to use ones that are really playable, or even necessarily in their respective faction. This lets us give out important older cards without having to do a reprint. If for some reason you didn't get a copy of DotF, you can still get a professional copy of the Yammosk or Atris or Bastila because there are now promos for those cards, and we don't have to go through the process of reprinting the set.

That's another good use of the promos. Good call.
