Points conceded. I guess my perspective is from coming into the game during RotS, where he always seemed too fragile to be effective.

Fragile against someone like Boba Fett or Darth Vader, but not against battle droid mooks.

Another question, with the clones, is it a better idea to try to keep the battle at range by staying outside, or bringing the fight indoors? Just using the Muunilist map I took photos of as an example, is it better to try and keep the fight in the courtyard, or inside a building? We also try to use "gambit," though I didn't know that was the name. I created a house rule that is pretty much the same after having played the Mech Warrior miniatures game. Alternate VCs keep the game alive. It also makes it feel more like Battlefront [Battlefield] conquest game types.

where to take the fight will depend on your build and your opponents build.

Clones are shooters so it helps to keep them at range but their attack is awful and so its helpful to try and get no cover shots. If you are against shooters that have a better attack than you then it would behoove you to try and close the distance before exposing yourself.

Also, if you out activate your opponent you can use doors to better effect, opening them only when your opponent has activated his last piece so you can take a few shots without reprisal.

Super battle droid charge, so closing the distance with them is hard and it might be worth trying to draw them into a shooting match at range so they don't focus fire too much.

Try to eliminate regular Battle Droids with any 10 damage shooters instead of trying to hurt a Super. As the number of regular ol' Battle Droids goes down, the capabilities of the supers decreases massively.

Okay, based on what I own, I just put together two 300 point armies.

Republic
9 Clone Troopers
1 ARC trooper
5 Kashyyyk troopers [Heavy Weapons]
5 Utapau Toopers [Snipers]
5 Saleucami Troopers
2 Arial Clone Trooper Commanders
300 points exactly

Sepratists
14 Battle Droids
2 Security Battle Droids
9 Super Battle Droids
3 Destroyer Droids
2 Battle Droid Officers
2 Spider Droids
300 points exactly

I am going to try out the Endor map first and pretend it is Kashyyyk. One change I might make before game time is to replace the Saleucami Troopers and 1 Utapau Trooper with 2 AT-RT walkers. I might also replace 2 more Utapau Troopers with 2 Wookie Scouts. However, I have to admit that the army of 27 clones looks really cool.

I plan on using the "Concealment" special rules for this scenario, found in the "Attack on Endor" scenario book. [Concealment - The green tinted areas represent dense foliage. Character have difficulty seeing through the mass of leaves and small trees, but it does not provide cover. These areas are considered Difficult Terrain. When making a non-melee attack into, out of, or through tinted areas, roll two D20s and take the lower result. Concealment does not apply to abilities that require a save, such as grenades.] Are unites with Mounted Weapon affected by difficult terrain? If so, I might make a house rule to say otherwise... or at least for the concealment rules for this map. The walkers should just trample through the terrain unaffected. I know the Arial Clones have flight, so they are fine. I might also make a special rule that allows the Utapau troopers to climb a tree and snip from it. Maybe have it cost a move order and it can enter the "wall" section of the tree. Then it can shoot from cover/concealment. They do have "Wall Climber" after all, and they are snipers.

I think I am going to first set it up as a Separatist attack on a Republic installation. Then we will probably play on the other "Attack on Endor" map of the ruin base, and this time reverse the roles. If you are interested, I will try to get pictures and maybe post them here, or in the "Battle Reports" sub forum.
