While we're talking about 100 point Luke, I ran him for the first time in a friendly match last night after having the Bounty Hunter Challenge cards sitting around for months. My opponent was running a heavy Rebel shooter squad with the IG-88s, and I ran Luke with Ganner and Kyp. I lost map and ended up playing on Peaceful City. I got shot to pieces, and the only opponent piece I took down was Luke Rebel Commando. In hindsight I did make mistakes (I could have hung back a while to build up force points), but it still wasn't that hard to take Luke down with good shooters, even with him only failing one lightsaber defense save all game and getting bodyguarded by the other force users.
I'm sure he's super good against melee, and in this matchup a more defensive squad may have worked better, but after seeing him get annihilated so easily I certainly don't have any concerns about him dominating the meta.

Good grief! Talk about abusing power of MOD :D TheHutts wrote:While we're talking about 100 point Luke, I ran him for the first time in a friendly match last night after having the Bounty Hunter Challenge cards sitting around for months. In that regard Sidious is much better because his defense doesn't rely on force points. If the player controling him is a hot roller he can even take down this new Luke. However Luke is much more mobile (twin attack from 18 squares is huge!) and DSSM certainly hurts his opponents.

Luke can actually do 120 from 18 away. Run 12 light saber throw 2 the other 6 and kill something.

And that was really only possible when Ganner levitated him into position, because nobody in his right mind would allow a main piece to be based by GMLS at the end of the round. Now Luke can do just as much damage, but on the move. Furthermore, being levitated by Ganner makes the threat-range huge (up to 31 squares!). You're still paying for it though: Luke/Ganner/Dodonna is 138pts, which means either very low activations or having to rely on Luke as your only real attacker.

I don't think you need Dodonna with Luke. With Luke, you're probably going to be hopelessly out-activated anyway - even with Dodonna. Use the 9 points on something else. Even 3 mice to serve as blockers.

Luke does run into problems when he can't kill a big piece by himself, right? A lot of pieces he can take down by himself, but the IG-88s are tough for him because he can only kill one if it fails all four of its Shields saves. And it's hard for him to set up the previous round, since he's probably getting outactivated.
In a lot of matchups he probably could charge in and take down the other squad's primary shooter no problem, then monster the other squad's melee - I can imagine that working well against the OR squads with Atton/Carth/Satele. He's a fun option, for sure, and the extra mobility over GMLS is great.

Luke could take out 88A assuming some saves get failed. The big thing is using Luke as a range 6 shooter. If you can do that then he's pretty great.

I think we should have a uber strong NR Luke that has evade and parry double twin LS assault force push 5 and what not for around 80 pts

As I understand it both he and the Sidious, Sith Mastermind will be printed and included in this V-set. I believe technically they take up 2 of the spots in the mini-set so the Old Republic mini-set is only 10 cards instead of the normal 12.

Luke and Sidious will be printed as part of the TOR micro-set, which is part of V-Set 5, which will be in your hands very soon.
