Hate to say it, but I signed up for the X-Wing tournament over this. Is there anyway in future years we could not compete with the other big star wars event? Really wish i could do both.
Events are scheduled not knowing when the other groups have their championships.
Fantasy flight has X-wing on Thursday and Friday, Imperial Assault on Saturday, and Armada on Sunday so it would not matter when we scheduled our champs we would have to compete with another star wars event.

Yeah, I think it's just luck (or un-luck) of the draw, unfortunately. Last year the X-Wing Champs was Friday/Saturday, so you could easily do the SWM/X-Wing Champy Dance. I know of other people who had to choose between X-Wing and SWM this year, and they chose X-Wing too. It's a bummer, but if we don't have access to FFG's intended tournament schedule, we're pretty much stuck with a shot in the dark.
If someone could find a way to hack into FFG's system and do some research and then "make an informed suggestion" to the people who plan SWM at GenCon, I'm sure there are many who would appreciate it. ;)
