- Fix stupid rulings. This are the first things new players are going to dislike, like attacks with lightsabers not melee, General Skywalker not counting as Anakin, etc. Those kind of things. I know it makes little difference to the gameplay but it just takes away the immersion/fun for many players
- CE's normal range should be 6, only exceptions should be very weak ones (original Jabba for example), double-edged ones or "character X gains ability Y" type of CEs
- No superstealth. Change it to an slightly improved version of stealth (range 3 instead of 6 for example) or just leave it out of the game completely
- No activation control. Messing with the game's basic mechanics is pretty much dumb in any game.
- Change Strafe/Galloping Attack so that you can only move in one straight line while using it. Makes thematic sense and makes it less powerful, you actually have to play now to use it correctly.
- Alter cover rules for huge characters. Huges can't get cover from non-huge characters and low objects, but also ignore difficult terrain, low objects and medium/small sized enemies.
- Change costs of some characters. (Just as an example, WOTC Darth Revan cost 70. From a WOTC-only point of view and exluding the top 100 pieces.)

If you guys get it set up (and assuming I make it to GenCon), I'd play in it.

I agree with 7, 9, and 10. I think the other ones are just dreams that couldn't happen (and that's coming from ME.)

Hello all,

I havent been on for a while. Last time I was on I was supposed to help play test for this last set, life happened hardcore, worked a ton over spring and summer to save to bu a house, just to have a sneaky loan go to creditors (didnt know about it) right as the bank was looking over my credit ;(
So, I took a job in Jacksonville, NC and moved as a fresh start.

Anyway, my life will be in order in a about 3 weeks and I look forward into getting back into the game. and sorry for not being able to play test this time around.

The point that Shmi15 is trying to make is that the COMMUNITY KNOWS THE GAME! I promise you that EVERY SINGLE errata from that was made by the balance committee was fought by the TN guys and others for YEARS. (except maybe a few where the piece changed had not been out for years).

IF the community had listened years ago and COMPROMISED, the chances of a lot of those players staying in the game would be very high. After all, we loved the game so much we made out own version of it with our own house rules and have had a blast.

Anyway, The point of community is very very real and the point of competition being suffocating is also very real.
The idea of being rigid is also very real. It takes more than act of Congress to get something changed.

I truly truly feel like we should revisit the balance committee with a few things that MIGHT NOT BE BROKEN, but do create a NPE. and yes, everyones npe's are different, but a lot of people have the same npe's.

The reason I was (and am) excited about play testing was because of the changes I saw from the balance committee and being heard (tecnically I was never heard, I was blacklisted. but Atmsalad was heard because he won some regionals with NPE's). but i was glad regardless.

Anyway, as for Gencon.

I think if you want more players, you make the game fun in the competitive sense. I think listening to the community would be a great start.
I think the ones in charge should ask the community what makes the game fun, and get responses from people, (before that individually reach out to everyone around so they have a chance to communicate their thoughts) and run some data on the results. At the same time I think offering some known choices would go a long way to stop all the "individual and specific requests"
For instance say, "list the things that stop you form wanting to play competitive from this poll"
option 1: Full board CE
option 2: over-powered pieces
option 3: swarms
option 4: activation control
option 5: shooter advantage / not a lot of melee playable
option 6: pieces that cover so much ground (Strafe/galloping/etc)

I think if a rule as easy as your squad cannot contain more than 10 non-uniques would be great.
I think a rule such as if a shooter is more than 6 squares away it gets -2 attack to its shot or something like that would be great.
I think a 3 pt non-unique droid with screech or something that says that enemy commander effects cannot be relayed to characters within 2 squares of this character. Booming Voice is suppressed within 2 squares of this character.

Anyway, I look forward to getting back into it once my internet is up (family is not up from TN yet and I am at Wendy's).

I hope that going forward the game continues to move towards more game friendly and fun playing. I look forward to fun pieces being designed.
I also have sentiments that melee pieces have to be crazy crazy powerful to be playable because if other NPE's and it, in turn, creates NPE's
Like Bane and Lothal. I think some board rule changes or a well designed, easy to implement and flavorful and fun piece can go veyr far into getting melee force users playable without making them so ridiculous

From the Rules of Conduct:
Code of Conduct to go by on BlooMilk (Rule of thumb):

-There will be no negotiations on/about punishment, aggressive or otherwise.
-The following rules are not subject to discussion. This list does not comprise all future rules and may be updated in the future.

1) No swearing. Profanity or vulgar language on Bloomilk is not permitted and will be edited out of posts containing them. There are plenty of other four letter words to replace them that do not offend the senses; you can use them as long as they are not offensive.
