Good points. In my old play group, we lost 2 players and gained three. those 3 players shelled out about 400$ in the span of 2 weeks, buying all the beefies they could get their hands on. I mean, look at Cad bane. When he was released in GaW, he was going for 30$, now hes up to 60$. yes, minis are still pricey as their values are soaring, but the good news is that people are still buying them.

That would be one hell of an inventory. EmporerDragon wrote:Also one big thing that drives Magic prices up is that individual cards are both harder to obtain and you need multiples of a card for it to be of any use. Along with the number of players who play the game, demand does indeed drive up the prices, along iwth the notion of how powerfull a card might be EDIT: i can see in 5 to 8 years the price and value of some SWM singles going up to twice thrie current price... Im not so sure, and even still if you take cad bane and tripple his cost, thats at max only 180$ (given thats enough for like half set) but still compared to those cards, nothing.

Well conidering that I think at this point unless my info skills are lacking, right now outside of a new player buying up cases to catch up,I think the Vsets when refering to older minis to be used, will drive up the price as those minis are scooped up if they aren't already. Well yeah and thats due to something that was pointed out upthread,in MTG a player owuld perfer to have 4 of one card for msot fomats. Whereas for SWM,once you get one you're basiclly done going after a mini...

Just a few figures At $55 each, 364 Cad Banes At $40 each, 500 A'Sharad Hett's At $33 each, 606 CS Destroyer Droids At $10 each, 2000 mouse droids Are there even 606 CS Destroyer Droids in existence?

When MTG meets its death, the card market will also die due to nothing sustaining the interest outside of the game itself. Whereas, Star Wars will always have a following, which has more potential for sustained value for the minis.

I've removed some posts from this thread. The tone was not going anywhere good. Bring it back on topic.
