wow! that geonosion looks awesome! I always loved the idea of sonic attack now it will get plenty of use! Then I was thinking the geonosions would become too powerful with Poggle, but even now costing 6 points they only have +6 attack (now due to synergy) so nothing overpowered here! I have a question, with poggles rapport would the EGS benefit from the Techno Union Combat Engineer's Mutant/Cyborg Experimentation?

The Techno Union Combat Engineer's card says:
Mutant/Cyborg Experimentation (Non-Unique living allies with a printed cost of 15 or less gain Cyborg and Slave)

So I don't think he would be eligible for the mutant shenanigans.

This is the Chirpa from over at Gamers:

Quote:
41. Chief Chirpa -- Fringe -- RM: Logray, Ewok Shaman
SMALL BASE
Cost 16

Hit Points 40
Defense 18
Attack +6
Damage 10

Special Abilities
Unique. Ewok

Stealth [If this character has cover, he does not count as the nearest enemy for an attacker farther than 6 squares when choosing targets]

Swarm +2 [+2 Attack against a target for each allied Ewok adjacent to that target]

Commander Effect
Ewok allies gain Charging Fire [Replaces turn: Can move up to double speed, then attack] and Gregarious [+4 Attack if an ally is within 6 squares].

Just wondering why it is that some of these pieces don't have synergy. I would think that Tholm would have synergy with Quinlan and/or Aayla, and Alema Rar with Lomi Plo? Just thinking out loud I guess.

I was thinking that also, but I realized that Quinlan and Aayla are good enough without anymore synergy.
Tholme himself is just great. What a bargain at 36 points!

According to my count, we now have 13 full previews. What's exciting you so far?

New Tholme with Force Pull and Distraction might a really good partner for him too.

I don't think Tholme has Force Pull, though Force Pull and Distraction would make a great combo!

Tholme really excites me especially since he is one of my favorite Jedi masters, (he made an impression in my childhood I guess) I'm so glad he is finally getting an official version.
Tholme will be great in 3 of the 4 Republic Jedi squad types. 1. GOWK, Followers with super stats. 2 c'baoth, for force power sharing goodness. 3 Cin Dralling, GMA plus a new Lightsaber Style. He is so-so in the fourth. 4 Master Yoda, additional attack plus Lightsaber Defense (which Tholme already has)
Distraction means he will clean up those poggle/nom bombs no prob. Withdrawal is an interesting choice, great with Master Mind Meld. Avoid Defeat and stealth are a perfect representation of him.

There has been alot spoiled today I will comment on the rest later.Smile

Wow - no idea where I got that idea from. Aayla has Force Pull 2 and Sweep, she might combo well with Yoda.

All true.

Card space is a literal limiting factor as well

Any reason why Yoda's RM is the Trandoshan Scavenger? It's been used for at least two other v-set pieces, and we have several Yoda figures.

I'm guessing it'd be because they don't want a figure being a RM for multiple characters of the same faction.

I don't think that is the correct image for Yoda's stat card. Look at this one it has a Yoda fig http://swmresources.com/downloads/bhccards2013.pdf
Also if you look closely right above the card images it tells you what the recommended minis are for the BHC pieces.

My favorite spoiled character is probably Dooku or Yoda, they are just awesome! They are perfect for bounty hunter challenge pieces. They both need an awesome version and these pieces deliver! (would you believe me if I said I already have squads prepared for them?) Can't wait to give them a play

We really wanted to capture what Tholme was as a character, rather than a mentor.

It quickly got to the point where we either stuck with what we imagined him as a solo piece or one that was toned down but gave out some synergy.

In the end it came down to there was just not enough space to do his character justice while giving out some boost to some characters that just got very good remakes.

This is Tholme as the thorn in the side of the Seps, behind enemy lines messing about with their plans and being very difficult to get rid of.

Similar situation with Alema Rar, in order to keep cost down and her functionality up, lomi Plo synergy was left on the table. Alema is a great piece as a result.

Pretty awesome. Gives the Woks a nice attack bonus which works nicely with their swarm mentality, and allows you to cut Han in Trooper armor from the picture. I like BlooMilk

This card gives you guys a bit of a look into the design process.

I generally go through and create templates of all the cards once I have the set icon complete and change the colors for the factions and make sure the piece numbers match up and add the characters names. The RM piece is left from what ever card I used as the template. I leave them on there so the RM are all very close to the same size if they are a medium base.

Sometimes the stats are complete before the RM has been photographed and then photoshoped. I assume that was the case with this card. Or I was doing it on my local drive and the RM i needed was from an old set on a back up drive.
