Jedi Battlemaster 12/60 Republic

Is that the exact name? For several reasons, I don't think it's a good idea to re-use exact WotC names with new stats, even if it's in a new faction.

* WotC never re-used a character name. While it's not a game rule, I think that's a custom that should be followed.

* In practice, it's rare that there would be any confusion about which Battlemaster version is being referenced when people talk about them, but it could happen (e.g. a squad built in a booster league with boosters from both JA and Scum & Villainy).

* I don't know for certain how individual sets of statistics are identified in the SWM software that's out there, but I would imagine that in at least some cases, character name is used to uniquely identify stats. If so, this may break some functionality. It would be an easy fix for the developer, but why risk it?

* It would be easy to change the name in any number of ways to convey the same meaning...

. Battlemaster of the Jedi Order
. Battlemaster (with no qualification - it's obvious it's a Jedi.)
. Jedi Sword Master (alternate name according to wookieepedia)
. Jedi Head Instructor (one step below the battlemaster, but conveys the same idea)

There are probably plenty of other variations as well.

Embo is soooo good. Even though it may not look it on paper.

It's funny. I couldn't tell, by the stats, f the mini was Embo, Captain America, or Oddjob.

Is it just me, or does Embo seem to be a bit expensive for what he brings?

Consider his synergy with existing pieces and I think you'll see his value. Looks to be a great piece.

I think he's pretty good with thrawn squads. Speed 8, ignores characters for movement, Can always twin at the end of movement. He's great for running 16 hitting and letting you swap someone else on top.

He's also pretty good with general skywalker. 70 Damage from 16 away and Embo can just hop over whatever you put in the way.

Hat Toss is pretty handy too. Ignoring cover from 6 away means he has a way to attack cloaked guys.

--Embo--
42 Embo
33 Jacen Solo, Jedi Knight
30 Vergere
23 General Wedge Antilles
22 R2-D2 and C-3PO, Galactic Heroes
18 Twi'lek Black Sun Vigo
16 Dr. Evazan, Galactic Criminal
6 Mouse Droid x2
9 Ugnaught Demolitionist x3

(199pts. 12 activations)

Vergere grants VCA6 to Embo who runs around dropping 50 damage on enemies with his Charging Assault +10. He can soften up beatsticks or run in for a deep strike on opposing commanders. With DR10 and VCA6 he'll have lasting power. Jacen stalls and frustrates anyone trying to get to your filler with Parry and Evade from Wedge. Dr. E heals as needed and R2/3PO bodyguard to keep the damage spread around to ensure everyone survives. Teir 1? Don't know.

--Embo & Imps--
71 Lord Vader
42 Embo
32 Thrawn (Mitth'raw'nuruodo)
31 Arica
8 Mas Amedda
15 Ugnaught Demolitionist x5

(199pts. 10 activations)

Embo gains Advantageous and Opportunist, as does Arica. Low activations should be evened quickly between Arica's barrage and Embo running late round for a Lord Vader swap.

I can't comment on whether his cost is accurate, but I love how different he is from other options. He's a beat stick, but not an uber-beat stick with 100+ damage. Low HP, but with DR10 and access to multiple other defenses. And then the triple-movement breaker of high speed, charging assault, and ignoring characters. Plus a low-damage ignores-cover option. Really great combination of tricks there.

After looking up Embo on wookieepedia I would have to say that the Clone Wars toon is now just making Star Wars silly.

He makes a pretty good Bodyguard for either Dooku, SL or Roan Fel.
