I always wanted a givin in this game. I pictured him as a scientist but this is also very nice, gives an alternative to the r7 especially in black sun squads, that Luke is very nice, that pseudo- booming voice for troopers will be handy.

On SHNN they talked about how you could use Luke's CE to use K3PO's swap effectively - send a trooper in deep, then use K3PO to swap in a big threat. They also said that there's another Rebel trooper option coming in the upcoming set.

also with this Luke you can use hero of endor to give him djem so. IT only costs an extra 5 points which isn't too bad. Great addition to trooper squads though. May have to pull out those hoth repeaters again.

Two long overdue characters. They should be very interesting to mix. I'm wondering what kind of effect they'll have on the game.

I think this new luke may be my favorite in the game. I've wanted a luke that boosts troopers for ever. Great job with the CE.

He deserves credit here. A REBEL Luke COMMANDER has really been needed, and Brad's design is great. I'm excited to play him myself!

If any playtesters want to answer this it would be appreciated. I was wondering how, or if anyone playtested Shmi with darth vader scourge of the jedi? He seems really really awesome with her, gaining double riposte for melee with djem so, jedi hunter and most likely opportunist on him. just wondering what the designers/playtesters thought the best use of her would be. Thanks in advance for any insights.

I think that concern (about super awesome Vaders) is balanced out by the fact that Anakin's Decoy only works with characters whose name contains Anakin Skywalker, so it's much more difficult to get Mother's Sacrifice to trigger if you play her with a Vader or with General Skywalker. Not that there aren't ways around that, but you do lose a lot of the functionality of the piece if you can't use the Decoy ability.
ETA: If I WERE going to play her with a Vader, I might use someone like Unleashed, using LS Throw 5 to have Anakin kill his own mom.

I don't think she is going to make any vader/Anakin to good, I am wanting input on what the designer/playtesters thought was the best vader/Anakin to use it with. I love the thought of her dying and then him going on rampage! Personally I am leaning towards Anakin, chosen one.

I hope I'm not treading on anyone's toes by reposting them here: Both pretty interesting, I reckon. I think it's fair to say that the Anakin is an improvement on the SHNN April Fools one from a few years back: Quote: What does this button do? Whenever this character activates, roll a D20:
1: Opponent selects one of your characters to be immediately defeated. 2-4: Opponent may add 20 points of fringe reserves to his squad. 7-9: Opponent may select one of your non-unique characters and take an immediate turn with it. This can be done even if it is activated, and doesn't count as activating it if it wasn't. 10-12: Anakin tries spinning. Nothing happens. 13-15: Until Anakin activates again, all allies gain Bombad Gungan. 16-18: Anakin gains one of opponent's commander effects until he activates again. 20: Select one of your opponent's characters to be immediately defeated.

Mother's Sacrifice, who gets eliminated by the wording other than Lord Vader? I can't figure out why "ally who counts as Anakin Skywalker" wasn't used.

Very cool boosts for Anakin! Mothers Sacrifice make her almost an auto include with any Anakin/Vader. I find her use of a blaster dubious, but for the sake of the game I think +1 attack is fair. We always wanted a Young Ani and now we got our wish! We can all agree that Renewal, Intuition, Repair and Pilot definitely belong on him, plus Evade and use the force are great! Destiny of the Force is strong, but not overly so since it only works on your characters attacks, not saves additionally you must keep little Ani in harms way for it to be effective (Evade is his defense, but if he has to stay within 6 from the enemy, they can just base him and attack) Good stats, cool abilities. I could see him used in my Straight to the heart of the Matter with Mace Windu, Legacy of the Light Side and the Chagrian Mercenary Commander. BTW Thanks for posting TheHutts! I really appreciate it!

Lord Vader is really the only one and he already has Sith Rage and MotF2 so he didn't need that boost. I love the "Counts As" wording, though I guess from a designers point of view it further limits what they can do with that 'character'.

From what I can gleam, it is a future-proof method of avoiding possible odd interactions with camaraderie/Rival and other things that might rear their head.
