I think the Bao,Bastilla, HK-47, IG-86 swarms will be tough to beat. That is a scary amount of damage that those Meatbag Annihilator's can pump out. Cool

Oh wow... never realized droids could actually be effected by force abilities... makes sense logically now that I think about it. That combo packs quite the punch.

All three new pieces look good, but Bao-Dur gets a gold star. The combo people have been mentioning is exactly the one that occurred to me. Since CHAMPIONS OF THE FORCE, the Old Republic has been a bit of a "spoiler" faction, and it's great to see that they are really finding new ways to rock that dynamic.

For years, when making stats, my dream has been that a faction besides the Seps would be able to field successful droids squads, and I have always wanted it to be the Old Rep. Looks like my dream is finally coming true!

Agree here. I really like Bao-Dur... he's really outside the box. I can't think of any one piece that he's really comparable too except maybe GGDAC, but his play style is going to be so different. Really think they made a solid and unique piece.

Something I really like about Bao-Dur is all of his stuff doesn't rely on CEs, which is nice in game, but also in canon he wasn't much of a leader so he wouldn't have a CE. But these are great representations of his abilities. Love giving out Shields, and double attack and plus 4 attack means OR droid squads are not only possible but could be great! I'm looking at you HK-series and IG-Series.

Additionally, the new IG-88A might be best suited to Old Republic too. So Old Republic could definitely see a lot of droid squads.

So, the "Counts as Bao-dur" isn't necessary in the Unique description?

The only time you need a "counts as X" is when the name of the character is either completely different (Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader) or partially obstructed (General Solo and Han Solo). Since his name is "Bao-Dur, Tech Specialist" he already counts as Bao-Dur since it's in the name.

The Elite Old Republic Soldier really is not that great...ThumbDown But, it is another option for the faction to use as a decent filler piece.

Sith Blademaster+Darth Bandon+Darth Malak, DLotS=Drool

I like the Bao-Dur, but he is not going to last very long, meager Defense (17) and only 50 Hit Points, modern shooters can take him down with one or two hits. I know he is a support piece, but because Droid Master is range 6, he has to keep near the front lines, which puts him in a precarious position.

Unless they have Accurate, they are going to have to get past high defense droids. Also, map choice is important. I think there are enough stuff to keep him alive that he will be rather tough to kill unless you are dedicated to killing him.

My thoughts, Exactly.

If you are playing Bao-Dur with HK-47 and HK-50, the HK-50s will have a 26 Defense in cover. Not impossible to hit, but still pretty tough from range. Against Melee pieces you will be in trouble.

Yeah, that's not the biggest one I'm thinking about to block attacks, mainly the 24 Def Mice are handy.

Wow, I'm glad you guys like Bao Dor. The biggest impression I got from him was "meh". Droids being played in other factions is now viable. So I'm glad people like that.

I kinda have mixed feelings on him the more I look at him. He's got great SA's but he also has low HP, not so great defense, low damage output and a big target put on him. RC Atin is lining up his sights for a Final Shot already. It will be interesting to see what good mini's there are for his Sheilds 1 to go onto.

Putting Shields on any character is viable enough for me. Cad bane with shields makes me laugh.

Yeah... love this. So many good pieces in that faction (pre and post v-sets) that just got even more playable.

Shield a character like Carth or Atton that sometimes goes down a little too fast, and could use a survivability boost. (Maybe I am just suggesting this because I don't have Cad BaneCrying )

I was actually thinking that vodo siosk is now a real pain to get rid of. Wonder if it could be used to make him a feasible in competitive builds. Shields 1 + Parry + MoTF2 + access to defense boosts makes him an extremely defensive piece. Wish we could get him some force renewal

I don't see how. Dark Armor is nice on Vaders, but I wouldn't call it 21 pts worth. You waste SO much when you use him just for the Shields, it is silly. It is a handy boost, but if you aren't using him to boost droids, the squad isn't as efficient as it should, you are wasting points.

I mostly see him as making Juggernaut war droids an actual threat. I've always liked them, and Mobile attack and door control gave them so much potential, but their unboostable +7 attack made a great piece less then stellar. I think this fixes the problem.

He is great with HK47 since you can give him shield 10 and he gets +10 from BSJM.
The shields, Mice + BJSM + sniper+repair 30 should let him sit and snipe whatever he wants for a while. He can do 40 on the move and 80 still.
Then add in three-four 86 droids or vong droids.

The OR have an answer to vong+ its a not a CE based squad other than the Def ce.
With 24 def mice, Disruptive, BJSM, + good fire power the squad should stay around for a while.

BSJM 33
Dur 21
Hk 47 39
86x4
Gha
R7
Micex9
Uggiex2

Could work in lobot if you want so you can go T1,BG,Tredwell so on.

I think a T1 with a 19 def and repair 30 could be sick.

Durs best friend is the old Telosian Tank Droid or a Guard droid(since they can get up to 120 for damage even though the 11 attack)
The 80 hps with a 21 def 11 attack might be something to look at hmmmmmmmm
