I've had someone accuse me of using a loaded die because I rolled two 20's in a row. To which I replied "You mean this die that just rolled three 1's?" Sometimes those 1's can get rolled out of the way.

Have both. The Light up D20 really made dm angry at a Star Wars Rpg. I was rolling hot. He rolled it 10 times, saw it was random, and handed it back. Another 20. In SWM? Never happened.

Although this isn't a SWM example, one of our foremost SWM players - Bev - once rolled 7 1s in a row on a d20 in a D&D game... after like the 3rd one, he stopped rolling in the game and just kept rerolling the die to see if he could get something better, while we just kept on laughing. After his 7th 1 (which is like a 1 in so-many billion chance) he rolled a 4 and then another 1.
Priceless.

After rollin 3 ones in a row, and playing this dude I absolutely hate losing to because he rubs it in your face, I took the d20 and threw it out my back door. Well..... 3 months later I was washing the car and I found it balanced precariously on the underside of the wheelwell, of course its was balanced on a 20.... Nedless to say it's now my lucky dice!

@ captaingig.... ROFL my friend!
In all honesty this is what makes our lunchtime sessions soooo priceless. Your ridiculous rolls, my periodic meltdowns and our combined sloppy play! Darth_Jim is right its only a game but what a game indeed and never forget its all in good old fashioned fun.
@ the Juice Man, you will be missed at the WNY regional!

I've had a few dice throws over the years. I've personally thrown them when; people have made illegal moves (whilst the game has been 'paused'), people have thrown them at me, or when an opponent hasn't actually rolled a die (but dropped it, in the hopes of getting a print value they need for a bulshavik shot with a battle droid). In recent times, defective dice (usually those that lose me games, cause me pain etc) are simply destroyed - by dremmel, by hacksaw, by blowtorch, by car. It's quite a cathartic experience, if done safely. Generally though, I think assault (which dice throwing is an instance of) is never justified. Imagine the laughs you'd get for going to jail/corrections for "Assault with a dice"... That said, if an opponent is particularly un-sportsperson-ly, to the point of jibes, goading, or other similarly childish behavior... retributive dice may fly. In my experience, arbiters (such as judges or GMs/store owners) have been those most ready to toss the dice at unruly players. Metal ones hurt the noggin

I don't normally throw anything during games, but i do remember one particular game where my Darth Bandon 'gained flight until the end of the room' so to speak. He was basing one of my opponents characters and made a double attack - i rolled two 2's . Then, having survived until the next round, he tried again - both 2's again . That's when i decided to flick him as far away as possible. I mean, what are the odds?! If it had been the Tonnika Sisters, it would have been kind of cool though.

Good news: This thread has caused DarphNader to rethink his throwing antics. Today he rolled 4 or 5 ones, two 6's, a couple 10s and one 20 for initiative. Of course, my MTB took care of that one. He used a clear purple die today. Don't think he has a name for that one, but we'll call it the "Purple People Eater." P.S. Gha rolled a 20 to hit Warmaster Tsavong Lah in the same game. Darph = Me = P.P.S. DarphNader then failed his Vonduun 6 save. Darph = Me = TheHutt's "Dice Throwing Thread"Teaching temperance one post at a time.

Reminds me of when I was playing that dude who made me throw my dice I mentioned earlier. During one game After I defeated his Lancer droid team, His LAncer gained True flight as he lost his temper, Flipped the map, and sent all the rest of my guys flyin. Needless to say he gained flight sailing out the back door

Having had people like this in my gaming group (not for SWM but for other games) all I can say is that I think such immature behavior really can ruin the spirit of a gaming community. Nothing makes a game less fun than a short-tempered sore loser.
I still remember the time some guy posted on here right after IE came out saying how he was opening his case with his young son and when he saw C3PO, Ewok Diety as one of his VRs he hucked it across the room out of anger and it broke apart against the wall much to his son's amusement. All I could think was "Great, another future gamer being created who will be unable to handle the slightest bit of frustration with maturity and will ruin gaming experiences for others."

Thats true. Unfortunately that guy made things not fun at all. We wont even play minis with him any more. we just like to have fun. even If I lose, which is quite often, I don't mind. I'm happy just to play!

Both me and my brother are guilty of this, him more than me. Of cores its usually in the first 20 minutes of the game where its 100% certain he will loose, then winds up winning more times than not. Also not on the topic of throwing but it seems no game of SWM or D&D RPG is complete with out dice falling on the floor and people scrableing to find them! kobayashimaru wrote: In recent times, defective dice (usually those that lose me games, cause me pain etc) are simply destroyed - by dremmel, by hacksaw, by blowtorch, by car. Now there is an idea! Between my 20+ dice (I used to buy them every time I went out to game) there's a definite 2 or 3 dice I have that are on my 'Never use List' for the sole reason that they suck.

It's part of the frustration and the theatrics on both of our parts that this behavior occurs and in our "safe place" it's fun and absurd at the same time. Anywhere and against anyone else it would be poor sportsmanship plain & simple.

No. Nor has any of my group. I do understand though why some do, our group tends to have all good luck one night as all bad the next. I remember one game were one player did not throw above a 5 all night. Same player a week later did not throw below 17 all night. "Don't tell me the odds"
