I like the idea of the dollar a month club, but how will that effect what can be done? Is the issue a monetary one?

I don't think money has anything to do with it, i think people are trying to entice him by showing the community still wants updates. If its gonna happen, its gonna happen. I don't think there is anything we can do short of making a new website other than wait and hope he eventually gets around to it.

Yeah, money has nothing to do with it. Work is involved, and with real life priorities it can be hard to carve out free time for a hobby/game that you barely have time to participate in. I know this first hand as I rarely have time to actually play these days, and is also true of a lot of folks that contribute to keeping the game going. I don't have much in the way of coding skills, but I'm sure that part of the site is a lot more time consuming than the data stuff I've worked on.

Thanks for the reminder about donating... even just a buck a month would be nice to do for this guy. I've definitely become a big user of this site; not so much the past couple months, as work has been extra busy - a good thing - but none the less, I'm certainly going to donate.
And if he is able to update this last set, and the others to come, I'll be donating a chunk of cash on the regular.

swinefield, would it be possible for you to give the "keys" to someone with more time (of course, they have to be willing to do it haha)?

Perhaps it's time to recruit or reinstate in one case new mods to assist. Swinefeld, Sithborg and ED do an excellent job in their respective roles but it may be time for a passing of the torch. As we're more than four months since S&V has been released we really need to get the sets in place b4 the next release in Q1/13.
No disrespect intended but it seems to me as if we have a single point of dependency in this model and that is not generally a good situation as real life does get in the way. Alternate resources should have the requisite access to intercede should the CoC breakdown for a period of time.
My excuse my ignorance and accept my apologies should this already be the case.

To be clear, I've only seen half of the picture (the data side). I don't know what kinds of coding changes have to be made each time a new set is added. The goal is to have an interface like the custom builder for adding new sets, but there are layers of other stuff at work beyond what we all see in the customs builder to tie all the squad building rules together, so it's more complicated.
But that is what we're shooting for if possible. Time will tell.

It seems as though he's left the site, at least temporarily. However, I wish he would at least give the power to others to update it.
