I don't see how they are rebooting if they are making Episode VII.
Now, if you consider throwing out the EU a reboot, that's fair and more likely. Star Wars is no where near the level that it needs to be rebooted.

Ya know, I liked the new star trek but it will be interesting to see how this comes together. I want to see more "serious" lightsabre battles. Some of the starwars gaming sabre battles are more creative. The movie battles in say... Ep.4 were weak, but hey it gets a pass for being the 1st Star Wars movie. All in all... the Jury's definitely out.

I would like to see some multi-person dues like in the Old Republic Trailers!

Well the only thing I hope is that the Vsets continue long enough to have some of the new characters from the film in.
If I had a choice though I would set it so far in the future that any EU books become irrelevant, that way it wont conflict with anything that's gone before. Also give fans who think they have the right to dictate what should happen less to bitch about. Fans and not just Star Wars fans are very often any franchise worst enemy.
However whenever its set is Ok by me.

Here is another interesting article. It pretty much sums up how I feel about it too.

JJ Abrams likes the odd. Fate of the Jedi is very odd with Abeloth. Abeloth becomes another "amorphous ball of doom" in the vain of Sony's take of Galactus, Green Lantern's take of Parallax, Priest's take on WTF in its movie, and, by all accounts, V'ger in Star Trek the Motion picture. My conclusion is Fate of the Jedi summons up Abeloth as a Smoke Monster with shakey cam presentation.

I don't know...I haven't watched "late" Lost so can't judge there, but I found the early Lost episodes so dull that it lost my interest. It was like having to beg for every bit of new plot reveal gthat would alleviate the boredom, and they didn't come enough to warrant watching it, imo.

Really? I thought that the first 3 seasons of Lost were excellent...then (IMHO) they ruined the whole series by taking it in the strange direction they did with the Dharma Initiative and the "others," etc. However, I just FLEW through those episodes in the first 3 seasons, because I couldn't stop watching them.
As for JJ Abrams directing the new movie, I think it's a good choice. Personally, I'm far more concerned with what the storyline will be. I heard something about a decision to tell the story of "the young Han Solo" and I wanted to cry. Please, let Episodes 7-9 actually continue or follow upon the story begun in 1-6!!!

The Young Han Solo thing is a seperate project for a spin-off movie. I can only assume Episode 7 will continue the story some time after Return.

Nice tidy trilogy tying up the loose ends from Fate of the Jedi:
Episode VII: Return of Abeloth (Self-explanatory) Episode VIII: The Jedi Queen (Young girl ascends to the throne... appeal to the kids again) Episode IX: The Chosen One (Ben takes the role Anakin was supposed to take; Death of the main 3, Luke while finally killing Abeloth; R2 and 3PO get a partial memory wipe and new owners... setting the stage for another trilogy where only the droids are carried over.)

Never happening. They are not going to do a movie trilogy that requires the audience to be read a fairly subpar book series. As is, you will be lucky if any of the novels are still able to say the novels happened.
As much as I liked the NJO and earlier novels, the movies should not be constrained by them.

Have to agree with you 100%, it is also the reason why a lot of EU fans are just going to hate the films even if they are in actual fact very good. Movie fans I think will be more split on whether or not it good, much in the same way they were with the prequels. I know a lot hated them but I also know many who loved them. Has anyone been cast yet? not talking rumers.

Well, Carrie Fisher's reprisal of Leia might have taken a hit once she had her bi-polar moment on the cruise ship.
