Thanks for sharing in a more expansive way, and for bringing in
other options for value - such as other places to obtain minis or
the fact Bloomilk runs on donations from awesome folks.
You raise a lot of food for thought there.
The main thrust of my final 3 paragraphs was,
not so much in telling folks how to consume eggs; how folks speak is their own concern.
More as a reflective moment;

I made a lot of mistakes when I first made the jump to Bloomilk from WotC,
and posted in the wrong places etc...
Hothie and folks were kind enough to point to the Code and show me around, and I'm glad they did
Bloomilk is usually a lot of fun for folks everywhere, and completely unlike other tabletop gaming websites out there
take for example, DakkaDakka, DevArt (sometimes), CoolMiniOrNot...
elsewhere, folks often stop at "it's shite",
without that crucial constructive criticism feedback.
If beauty is in the eye of the beholden, I want to hear from the beholden,
and also folks that dislike whatever, for the 'why'; so as I can improve for next time.
How else do we get an answer, find a bit of motivation, or improve,
if we don't get the "why" along with the observation "it's shite"?
Will I want to get these envisaged mini set? Probably not, due to being a Clone Wars era fan.
Maybe there'll be something in the future, and I'm always fascinated to see what customs other fans come up with.
No one is holding an implement to anyone's head -
we're not coerced or obligated to obtain those minis.
We're completely free to obtain - or refrain.
Is the value proposition as presently envisaged, with the information to hand, 'attractive'? not particularly.
This has probably been a reality check in terms of 'what the market will bear' for folks, no doubt.
there are so many options on market (as observed in that first post where I "misunderstood the minimalism").
That's how these things tend to work - reverse lowest bidder, to find the cost-effective win win.
I'm still uncertain of how Sunderland723 envisaged making the end product;
via a third party from off the shelf software (such as HeroForge, Makermini, Shapeways, GoogleSketchups),
via a number of third parties using custom-made .stls (as in, not from some options slider, but perhaps meshes made in ZBrush or Blender etc)
or maybe an in-home process of some kind, such as with Form+1 etc...
This'd be great to hear more about, maybe in a thread over on Customs Fora?
I seem to recall hearing that other customs had been made, for heroclix and such - that'd be great to see also

the 'cut and reposition' or mid customisation is awesome;
there's a lot of subjects that can be made using that, and it's one of the best value propositions for folks wanting minis.
Lily's are indeed a fine example of custom minis done well.
