His defence stats are poor for a figure of his cost and a small amount of HP is not going to make a huge amount of difference and loses a spanking commander effect for one that a Commando Droid can provide. In my eyes, he's lumped in the same role as Ventress in that set, a figure that can't make his points back.
He's a better beatstick when you compare him to the other Grievous's. That's what I've been comparing him to at least.
I think most people know that he won't last long against
real beatsticks, and that he's kind of overcosted for his stats.
True enough, it's just like saying dark chocolate is better for you then white chocolate. Which it is, but when your trying to diet, it's not enough to do you much good anyway. Same with this Grevious, he may be somewhat more capable in close combat, but the commander has a blaster, and when on the defensive he can deal almost the same amount of damage.
While the new grevious is better at being on the offensive, his commander effect does not really reflect that since if his droids were to move with him (to help spread the damage out and get better lines of sight), they would lose their extra attacks. If his droids are moving with him, surely twin would be much better as an offensive commander? Plus I think or greater mobile attack would make him a very good piece that would make him feel like the all powerful glass melee he is meant to be. Winning through overwheming the oppoment with his incrediable combat skills before that defence can become a huge factor.
If he had twin, perhaps I would consider him. Just the fact he's got double makes him like Ventress. A commander who has no idea what he's trying to active.
