There are a few more charachters from the force unleashed i think would be cool to see such as: Baron Merillion Tarko, maybe a new Kota that has rebel reserves or something. Perhaps a Darth Sidious, Unleashed! Ozzik Sturn, a new Bail Organa and a new Mon Mothma for rebels!

These are all great ideas! Keep them coming.
On a more general note, something to make the lesser factions more competitive.
Mandos are almost there, perhaps a commander that lowers the cost of non unique mandos.
Sith, pieces are very powerful, means you only have a few, always get out activated (if you can stay outside of Sith sorcery). Maybe a Sith with some force power like:
Shroud of the Darkside: FP 3 - all opposing members of the enemy squad with base cost less than 5 have to make save 11 or be activated.
I would love to see a few Sith squads make it to the final rounds at gencon in 2012

I like the shroud of the darkside idea! For mandos I would love to see a Cassus Fett who could have rapport for non unique mandos, along with some other cool abilities

Abilities that can only be triggered at certain times during a round.
For example:
Wookiee Roar: Replaces turn; if at least four allies are activated, all enemies with a printed cost of 3 or less are considered activated.
Most Desperate Hour: Replaces turn; if all allies are activated, this character gains 40 hit points.

I'd like to see the following:
-Mercenary support in the way the way black sun, pilot, and savage got a boost in the last 2 sets.
-Species specific sub-faction boosts (like the boosts we got for jawas and tuskens): Trandoshians and ewoks in particular. We have a lot of pieces from both those species, but nothing to tie them together for truly competitive (or near competitive) use.
Ewoks: On ewoks, I would love some more ewok pieces. A chief Cherpa, catapults, traps with emplacement. Noa and Teek are two minis i've always wanted to see, along with the Towani kids. I'd love to see a teek piece, and its one of those minis that could justify from the accelerate special ability. Likewise, a colossal or large Gorax is definitely in order.
The fan boy in me would like to see a Qu Rahn. I would also like a new Rebel Lando to replace that piece of trash that was released in the final set.
Also, more mount/troop cart abilities. I love vehicles in skirmish games, and feel like the game could do with more of them. Maybe a cart that provides a bonus to its passangers, like:
Heavy Turbo Gun: Pilot characters removed from play by this characters troop cart ability gain +4 attack and +10 Damage.
or
Ace Pilot: When this character removed a pilot from play with its troop cart ability, it gains +4 defense.
Something like that to make pilots and vehicles synergize together.
I think both the Troop Cart and the Nikto Gunner Skiff could use a rehashing. For the amount of money I spent to be a proud owner of the skiff, i'd like to be able to use it for more than a round before it goes crashing into the guts of the sarlac.

"Costume change" options that allow you to switch between versions of a Unique character mid-game. For example...
For a Darth Maul on Speeder or Han/Luke on Tauntaun:
Dismount: At the beginning or end of this character's turn, you may replace this character with a lower-cost medium character who counts as (Darth Maul/Luke Skywalker/Han Solo). The replacement's starting hit points is the same as this character's remaining hit points.
*Glossary: Dismount: At the beginning or end of this character's turn, you may replace this character with a lower-cost medium character who counts as the character indicated. The replacement character begins with the number of hit points that is equal to the number of hit points this character has remaining, but this may not be greater than the replacement character's maximum hit points. If the replacement character is defeated, the opponent scores victory points equal to the original character's cost.
On Luke/Obi-Wan in Speeder:
You'll have to sell your speeder: During setup, after seeing your opponent's squad, select a medium Rebel character that counts as Luke Skywalker and a medium Rebel character that counts as Obi-Wan Kenobi whose cost adds up to 65 or less. At the beginning or end of this character's turn, you may replace this character with the selected Luke and Obi-Wan.
*Glossary: You'll have to sell your speeder: The characters are chosen when Reinforcements are chosen. They may be placed on the board at the beginning or end of the character's turn. The replacement characters begin with a number of hit points and force points equal to the number of hit points this character has remaining. You may choose how to split the remaining hit points and force points between Luke and Obi-Wan. The opponent does not score points for defeating the replacement Luke and Obi-Wan, but after both the replacement Luke and Obi-Wan are defeated, the opponent scores victory points equal to the original character's cost.
Note: for this to work well, there should also be a 30-36 cost Rebel Obi-Wan. It opens up more possible combinations for Luke/Obi-Wan. As is there are only about 4 combinations that make any sense at all:
Luke CotF + Obi Wan FS (49+8 = 57) Luke Rebel Commando + Obi-Wan Kenobi (27+38 = 65) Luke Young Jedi + Obi-Wan Unleashed (21+44 = 65) Luke Rebel + Obi-Wan Unleashed (17+44 = 61)
Luke RC would probably be the most common choice.

Any new characters is a plus. new versions of WOTC characters? sure if there are only 1,2,or 3 beyond that No thank you.
Special Abilities Head-Hunter (+4 Attack and +10 Damage against enemies who have a Commander Effect.)
Last Man Standing (This character gets +1 Attack and +1 Defense for each allied Unique character defeated.)
A vong SA that can open/distroy a door from 6 squares away, not sure what you would call it though.
Force Powers Defensive Web (Force 3: Whenever an ally within 4 squares would take Damage this character may prevent that Damage and all of it's effects with a save of 11)
This would suit a character like Laranth Tarak or any Jedi that uses guns instead of Lightsabers, but should not be overused.

As for Mounts I think they should be like a combo between Troop Cart and Tow Cable - i.e. not providing cover, but remove the rider from the map and let them mount/dismount all on the mounts turn. Providing cover is the big one though - it just seems really odd.

More filler options. For activations, blocking, door control, swapping... there are really just the 3 fringe options for 3 points or less: mice, rodian brutes, uggies. I'd request more options, but somehow handicapped such that one or two of them is useful but it's not as useful to have a ton of them in the same squad.
From the first round of ideas - a door control panel. Cost: 2. Can't attack, move, be moved, etc. Has override, but only to adjacent doors. Doesn't have to be counted as nearest enemy and doesn't block movement/provide cover. Destroyed if the door is destroyed. Limit one per door. If no door is available at the beginning of the skirmish, it is immediately defeated. (Recommended mini would just be a glass bead or something.)
A 3-point door technician that doesn't do much of anything except this type of door control:
Door Tech: When this character moves adjacent to a door it opens immediately. There is still a normal door check at the end of its turn.
A 3-point shooter but with a major handicap such as Speed 2 (or 4), or Internal Strife, or
Shell Shock: When this character activates, it may not move or attack and all allies with Shell Shock are considered activated. This character may avoid this effect with a save of 6.

From the first round of ideas - a door control panel. Cost: 2. Can't attack, move, be moved, etc. Has override, but only to adjacent doors. Doesn't have to be counted as nearest enemy and doesn't block movement/provide cover. Destroyed if the door is destroyed. Limit one per door. If no door is available at the beginning of the skirmish, it is immediately defeated. (Recommended mini would just be a glass bead or something.)
A 3-point door technician that doesn't do much of anything except this type of door control:
Door Tech: When this character moves adjacent to a door it opens immediately. There is still a normal door check at the end of its turn.
A 3-point shooter but with a major handicap such as Speed 2 (or 4), or Internal Strife, or
Shell Shock: When this character activates, it may not move or attack and all allies with Shell Shock are considered activated. This character may avoid this effect with a save of 6. I had thought of something like this before: Shell Spider's Web: Cost 2; HP 10; Def 9; Atk -; DMG -; Emplacement. DR 10. Non-sentient: Enemy Characters can chose to ignore this character while determining legal targets. This character cannot open doors. You could basically place them in tactical positions to slow enemies from coming through doors. Likewise, I thought about having a Shell Spider that could have Shell Spider's Web Reserves 6. Creating 3 of these webs in adjacent squares on a various initiative rolls.
