Darth Sidious, Sith Mastermind has Unique (counts as Emperor Palpatine). Doesn't that mean he counts as a character whose name contains Palpatine?

No if it says "name contains" that must be part of his name. Otherwise it would have to say be in a squad with a character who counts as "x".

It is also is why Hand of the Emperor doesn't work with Sidious or Supreme Chancellor Palpatine.

he also wouldn't get Sidious's rapport, that is only for name contains Darth Vader. I'm sorry, I really wish it worked together too, it would be SO great.

Let me preface this by saying I have been an advocate of a new GG-Wheel Bike for a long time. Now that it is here I'm not quite sure what to think.

The basis of the build Echo laid out is too obvious. The Vehicle for other character swap takes place end of turn so you simply add San w/ your high acts to get your gallop on at the end of the round, auto win init w/ the MTB (and quite possibly blowing something up w/ Poggle at the same time) and then let HoH go bananas.

This concept may grow on me but my gut reaction is that its a ready made and obvious NPE. And before we go any further I'm not taking a shot at designers or anything just merely expressing that I don't know yet if I will be happy to see my opponent bring it. That's partially because I haven't given enough thought or played out how to kill it.

That being said, if you kill off HoH in this example do you just get the 42 points for killing him or do you get the whole 63?

You do only get the 42 points for killing HoH.

It is a strong combo, but this set is also bringing a number of new counters for Galloping/Strafe Attack pieces, because it's also adding a lot of Galloping/Strafe Attack pieces. For example, Ulic Quel-Droma is a great counter to these pieces. Also, like I mentioned, it can be a lot more difficult than you might think to keep safe a large piece like Grievous on Wheelbike and also to give it a good place to land. That combo is also completely reliant on both outactivating and winning initiative; if your opponent also has a high-activation squad, brought the MTB themselves, or is running a counter like Sense the Future or Never Tell Me the Odds, the combo loses a LOT of its effectiveness.

So, My Pets from Myrkyr allows you to have Independent Outfit pieces, but does his CE? For example, could I play Talon, a bunch of Fringe guys, and then Alto Stratus and still have the CE take effect?

EDIT: Never mind, just reread the wording of Independent Outfit, they count as Fringe for CEs. Stupid me.Razz

Seriously? That seems crazy.

Then you could drop in Kaleesh Warlord to commit 'suicide' and steal 41 points from your opponent. It also doesn't seem to match up with Versatility.

That is the same way that Versatility works though; you only get the cost for the unit you kill.

I like what I'm seeing.

Quote:

This is awesome. Been waiting for this for a while. Wonder if the increased mobility is enough for competitive ATST squads? My guess is, no, they're still too expensive to really do much with them, but I've been wrong before (usually).

Personally, I would be happy to see Huge Walker and Stable Footing errated onto all huges for DCI play. We already removed Rigid. I suppose removing a power is easier than adding powers though, for the purpose of game simplicity, but it would add a layer of realism to the game, as well as a layer of competitiveness to the huges, which the V-SETS are doing a good job of helping with, as Sevrance and this new walker are great examples of this, but, a jawa can dream BlooMilk .
