I found a target that still had the star ship battles in stock, but i never bothered to collect it before, and they were going for 15.00, which was kinda high priced for a game that I heard was mediocre.
I also found an IE pack that had been ripped open... and was amazed to find a VR Vader inside, and the cards in tact. I dont know who in their right mind would bother to open it, and then pass that up... but he makes a great addition to my imperial squad!

I actually had a similar situation, years ago when UH came out the local Meijer actually had some boxes. I couldn't believe it when I found 2 UH boosters, both opened, both containing the VR Huges (Rancor and Obi on Boga). The cards and everything were still intact so I grabbed the pack with the Rancor (sorta wish I had also purchased the Obi, but oh well).

It is one thing to cherry pick by feeling the weight and shaking it, but it is irritating to see boxes smashed and a few with small tears.

Another thing I've seen was where kids tear the pack open either not realizing what they are or that they aren't supposed to be opened until they've been paid for. I've salvaged a Xizor/Mouse Droid booster that way.

Funny, out of the last 14 IE boosters I've only pulled 1 Mouse yet majority of boosters were VR (2 Dash, 3 Luke RC, 2 Rieekan, 1 Leia BH). Woulda rather had all R and gotten at least 4 Mice.

Cherry-picked a Felcor in a FU pack from our local Target today, along with a Proxy....not bad for 11 bucks. It appears that they keep putting out new packs from time to time, but the other sets seem to be stagnant in sales around here. I'm hoping for another drop as happened with the PocketModels game a while back. They had the Clone Wars boosters at $4.99, but they went fast.

I picked up a GAW pack today just for kicks. Being a newbie I was pretty pleased with the contents:
General Skywalker Clone Trooper Pilot Clone Trooper with nightvision Senate Commando Aqualish Technician R7 Astromech Droid Battle Droid Sergeant
I can see a couple good additions to my mostly starter set armies. :)

Finally got something new on my run today. I bought a JA and a FU at Target today and pulled Master K'Kruhk and Luke, HPU (#3).
I also discovered a neat new thing in Target's Halloween section: Minifig boosters. For 2 bucks you get a random exclusive minifig (1 of 16) with accessories. Unfortunately for me though, instead of getting one of the awesome figures like the Roman legionnaire, Vampire, or Mexican sterotype, I got the pop diva. Woo.

All the Targets in my area have sold out, the 1 by my house only had 2 IE and 1 JA and it's usually got a whole section of LotF and TFU as well as those 2... pretty sad day I'd been taking the liquidation prices for granted and wished I'd snapped up more now instead of thinking I could just pick more up next week... so get them while their there people!!!

Yeah, the collectible Lego minifigs are great! If you are looking for a specific figure, there is a way. Go to Brickset.com and they have a list of all of the figures' barcodes. So if you have some patience to sift through the box, you can find exactly what you need. Yeah, it's cheating.

The trouble for me with the barcodes is they all look almost the same. I have a lot of trouble telling the difference which sucks because I want an army of the Roman Legionnaire...

They're found in the Halloween section with all those random little gifts. As for reading barcodes, you don't look at the bars themselves, but the UPC number below the barcode, as that's the number the code represents. The full set is: 1) Mariachi 2) Spartan (Still looks like a Roman to me though, with the exception of the shield) 3) Lion Tamer 4) Witch 5) Vampire 6) Highway Patrol Officer 7) Archaeologist 8) Lifeguard (a la Baywatch) 9) Mime 10) Bodybuilder 11) Pop Diva 12) Skier 13) Disco Star 14) Judo Champion (Looks like Segata Sanshiro) 15) Surfer 16) Pharaoh
