Eric, you might have had the right faction, is it even possible for anyone but Rebels to win this?, but the wrong squad :)

--Challenge--
104 Golan Arms DF.9 Anti-Infantry Battery x3
18 Rebel Leader
13 Rebel Trooper on Tauntaun
80 Elite Rebel Commando x5
16 General Crix Madine
14 General Rieekan
56 Wookiee Freedom Fighter x4
24 Mon Calamari Tech Specialist x6

(299pts. 22 activations)

I don't think it's possible to beat this with any non-Rebel squad. Not even Republic with their one override piece can deal with this.

Edited to reflect recent rule clarifications with the Rebel Leader in place of one Tauntaun and a WFF. Now it's even worse lol.

I keep thinking that OR might have a chance, but then realize that you can't use DOTF characters. :(
Here's an OR one... (for fun)
49 The Jedi Exile
29 Visas Marr
54 Jedi Battlemaster x2
19 Old Republic Captain
95 Wookiee Elite Warrior x5
32 Juggernaut War Droid x2
20 Old Republic Guard x4

(298pts. 16 activations)

It's amazing how much I kept looking for a character, went to add them, then realized they were DOTF! Just goes to show you how invaluable they have already become for the off-factions.

Ya no kidding huk, I kept running into the same situation.

Ok, well here is my first squad. I went with my favorite faction, (Mandalorian) and my favorite character, (Boba Fett). Once again I'd like to state that I probably couldn't build a competitive squad to save my life. So please leave feedback so I can learn. ThumpUp

--You can run.............but you'll only die tired--
68 Mandalore the Indomitable
57 Boba Fett, Mercenary Commander
51 Basilisk War Droid
23 Mandalorian Captain
38 Mandalorian Scout x2
34 Mandalorian Gunslinger x2
16 Mandalorian Soldier
13 Mandalorian Commando

(300pts. 10 activations)

I have some Stealth, Strafe, Cloaked, Cunning, Opportunist and Evade in there. So I'm hoping I might have a fighting chance.

I'm waiting on clarification from Qynst on my third CE I have in there. Since he said "No more than 2 Commanders (in addition to Uniques)." I was hoping to bring in Fringe using Mandalorian Conscription. But Q nixed that idea. Crying

I really like it Johnny and its valid. To clarify, if both your Uniques have a CE then up 2 non uniques can also have a CE. Im I reckon one more day and well have to start voting on the best squads.

Remember, you can post more than one squad but no more than one faction per user.

i got a Vong Squad, Rebel, OR and Sith squad to tweak, LOL Im thinking there are anough Rebel Squads and OR sqauds, so ill prolly just post Vong and Sith as well :)

Cool beans, thanks man. Ya, I have a couple more idea's but my wife keeps Hijacking my laptop. Glare LOL Vong and Sith came to mind as well. Maybe we should give it another week or so? Give people some time to think it over. Then vote and figure out the next one. I have a couple idea's to run by ya for it. I'll BM them to ya. ThumpUp

Edit: Replacing my first brain-fart squad with different commandos.

29 Captain Argyus
152 Senate Commando x8
17 Elite Senate Guard
16 Queen Amidala
30 Republic Commando - Scorch x2
20 ARF Trooper x2
20 Gungan Artillerist x2
16 Rodian Diplomat x4

(300pts. 21 activations)

Mediocre attack from range, but lots of shots and damage potential.
Diplomats for mobile cover, stealth negation, and shielding the commanders.
Probably needs another Scorch against the Rebels.

And that is why the Mando scout is not too powerful. They just don't get the chance to use the Opp all the time. If you want to bring Boba to give them accurate shot, you really pay for that CE.

How about this instead.

http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/102441/300-faction-only-rebels

--300 faction only rebels--
52 Golan Arms DF.9 Anti-Infantry Battery x2
18 Rebel Leader
80 Elite Rebel Commando x5
16 General Crix Madine
70 Wookiee Freedom Fighter x5
26 Rebel Trooper on Tauntaun x2
14 Twi'lek Scout x2
24 Mon Calamari Tech Specialist x6

(300pts. 24 activations)
The batteries just about cover gambit (and really are Lancer safe - 6 twinning strafes to defeat is good).
The Rebel Leader is the key, all those +4 att +20 spotter damage shots
5x ERC - Bill you are right, 5 is better than 4 (out activate and out override your opponent)
5x WFF - come within 12 and the WFF will run out past the batteries for an attack
2x Rebel on TT (I still like the option of 2x mobile attackers with Recon and the fig is so cool)
2x Twi'lek scout (in base with a battery makes it shoot better, and everyone else)
6x Mon Cal, run up one turn and then combine fire the next. Is your opponent really going to pass up shots at the damage dealers and instead attack the Mon Cal's? That would be great!

you may have 4 commanders. 2 unique, and 2 non-unique.

--The Gods Command it--
63 Warmaster Tsavong Lah
34 Nom Anor
52 Yuuzhan Vong Ossus Guardian x2
44 Praetorite Vong Warrior x2
60 Yuuzhan Vong Jedi Hunter x3
18 Praetorite Vong Priest
11 Advance Agent, Officer
18 Advance Scout x3

(300pts. 14 activations)
So my second enty is a Vong squad. I realise they are not really competitive under the rules of this comp, but I figured why not. I rarely use my Vong's unless its for a theme battle so this is what I came up with. Obviously, Nom Anor is key here, his 'Vong Bomb' ability is pretty handy, 3 scouts plus one other non unique ally, the jedi Hunters are obvious, Lah is a bit of a and the only real shame is there lack of damage. 10 is pretty much it for stock stats, Lah grants momentum which should be handy or you can just sit back and activate the opposition heavy hitters with all those lovley thud bugs.

--Stealth Bombers--
25 Han Solo in Stormtrooper Armor
42 Commando on Speeder Bike x2
36 Rebel Commando Strike Leader x2
80 Bothan Commando x5
32 Elite Rebel Commando x2
16 General Crix Madine
42 Veteran Rebel Commando x3
27 Twi'lek Rebel Agent x3

(300pts. 19 activations)

For my final entry (i know, greedy :P) I went with rebels. I was struggling with myself, everybone in my body screamed 'Commando Luke' But I went with Han, his CE is pretty handy, giving follows Charging Fire. The Speeders IF they activate first can have a field day with Crix's CE kicking in and obviously the squad is Commando heavy. The Spotters get the super stealth as well so that makes them more than handy, +20 for combining, IF the Bothans dont move and get their Cunning attacks, thats +14 for 70. IF my maths is right.... Lets hope so :) I like this squad but any half decent shooter will be chalking up the kills I reckon against them if i dont get to cover. Anyways, I had planned to do a Hoth type squad but SOMEONE (Engineer GRRR) already went with Speeders and tauntauns, altho mine had no Commando's in. Just think Echo Base defense :)

or you can have 1 if you like.

--it's raining plasma--
57 General Grievous, Droid Army Commander
45 Corporate Alliance Tank Droid 2x twin 30-40 dmg
43 Wat Tambor, Techno Union Foreman repair 20
32 B3 Ultra Battle Droid 3x twin 20-30 dmg
32 Commerce Guild Homing Spider Droid 2x twinn 30-40 dmg w/AS
26 Chameleon Droid 2x twin 20-30 dmg
16 A4-Series Lab Droid repair 30
16 Battle Droid Sergeant
16 Geonosian Overseer
9 Battle Droid Officer
8 Battle Droid x2

Preferred Reserves:
(Wat Tambor TUF) 20 Battle Droid Sniper x2 2x twin 20-30 dmg w/AS

(300pts. 12 activations)

the CIS have lots of SA to take advantage of allowing this squad of only 1 CEHuh

all droids are an additional +8 att. & +4 def

low on activations, and no door control, but these metal men get lots of shots at the enemy.
