I have seen that trailer before but never knew who that girl was. It would be interesting to see how they represent her force push, b/c that double blast was pretty epic. But stopping the lightsaber with her force shield..... That would be an amazing ability to see used.

Satele Shan hasn't been confirmed, has she? She seems like a pretty odd choice, given that she really hasn't even had any canonical appearances yet. I would thing that since this is Epic, most of the characters will be iconic, or at least recognizable!

My guess for the Old Rep would be Revan, Exile, Ulic, or Nomi (most of whom fit the "second appearance" guideline. If it's a new character, I think Arca Jeth might fit the bill.

For Sith, my money is on Bane. Nihilus also seems like a solid guess, but with Darth Zannah coming out in R&R, I bet they will be priced for Epic format together.

For the "3 faction guy," I'd think Sidious would be the frontrunner (leaving the "real" Imperial spot open for Vader or Starkiller). Although I really like the idea of Vergere (and she's tough to make accurately at a reasonable prince!) we have to remember that these pieces are designed to be PLAYED, and spending over 100 points on a character who doesn't really seem to dish out much damage (at least not if she's accurately depicted) doesn't seem like a good bet (unless she's designed as the ultimate "buff" character). I could also see "Anakin Skywalker, the Chosen One" as an outside shot (Republic, Imperial, Sith).

With the Republic getting 2 pieces, Anakin, Kenobi, Yoda, and Mace seem like a good starting list, but I wouldn't be surprised if we only get one of them, with the other as a new surprise figure (although I'm not sure who it would be). Myself, I'd love to see to Kenobi and Anakin, both priced at 100. I mean, other than possibly Han/Chewie, is there any more iconic fighting pair in Star Wars history? They are the very definition of "Epic dynamic duo"!

In terms of Seps, I feel like Dooku is the only real option (perhaps finally a Dooku with a CE?), unless the designers get very creative (for example, a Grievous with reinforcements/reserves that bring in a constant flow of battle droids). I suppose Darth Maul or Even Savage Oppress is also a possibility.

For Vong, my bet is on Shimmra. Although Onimi is also a strong contender, he fits into the same category as Vergere, where he might not have sufficient damage output for something like Epic. On the other hand, I guess both of them are scheming and manipulative enough that maybe they don't NEED their own damage!

I would bet cashy money than the Mandalorian piece will have either "Mandalore" or "Fett" in it's name. :) Kal Skirata and Pre Vizsla would also both be possibilities, but I don't know that either has really earned a spot in the high level of what we're both talking about. Both are capable combatants, but generally rely on followers.

What have I missed?

In terms of Rebels, Luke is the iconic figure, although there's also a good argument for Kenobi or Starkiller. For NR, another 100+ Luke seems excessive, so I'd suspect a different Jedi Master (Mara Jade or Seba Sabatyne top my list).

For Fringe, I don't even know where to start, except that since all of these are going to be high-defense uninques, I'd see maybe "Boba Fett, Ultimate Bounty Hunter" or "Cad Bane, Ultimate Bounty Hunter." Although Boba seems a little more likely given his iconic status in the universe (and the fact that the V-Sets, so far, aren't bursting with love for the animated series), Cad would fill the "2nd appearance" quota.

Old Rep: Revan, Exile, Nomi Sunrider, Ulic Qel-Droma, Arca Jeth
Sith: Darth Bane, Darth Nihilus
Republic (x2): Anakin, Obi-Wan, Mace Windu, Yoda
Separatist: Count Dooku, Darth Maul, Savage Oppress
Rebel: Luke, Obi-Wan, Starkiller
Imperial: Vader, Vader's Apprentice
New Republic: Mara Jade, Saba Sebatyne
Fringe: Boba Fett, Cad Bane
Mando: a Mandalore or Fett
Vong: Shimmra, Onimi
Tri-Faction: Sidious, Vergere, Anakin Skywalker, the Chosen One

If they did make the Vong piece Vergere then she would be total tech:

Vergere
100, hp 120, def 24, ATk 18, dmg 20
SA
Unique
melee attack, triple attack
Master Betrayel (enemy character joins your squad on a roll of 1, 2, or 3)
Affinity (this character can be on a republic squad, a character named Jacen Solo can be on your squad)
Master intuition (this character can move double speed at the beginning of the round once initiative is decided)

Force 2
Force renewal 3
Force withdrawal
Force Sever
Force Spirit 8
Force Cloak
Vergere's Tears (replaces turn, force 5, one adjacent character is restored to full hit points)

Something like that.

Although at a much lower power level (high 30s), we came up with something similar for The New Lost Twenty:

Vergere
Faction: Fringe
Cost: 39
Hit Points: 90
Defense: 19
Attack: 0
Damage: 0

Unique
Betrayal (On an attack roll of natural 1 against this character, the attacker joins this character's squad until the end of the skirmish)
Dark Master (At the start of the skirmish, choose a Unique allied character. That character may spend Vergere’s Force points as if they were its own.)

Force 3, Force Renewal 1
Force Alter (Force 1: range 6; any 1 enemy rerolls its last attack)
Force Cloak (Force 2, replaces turn: For the rest of the skirmish, this character gains Cloaked)
Force Heal 30 (Force 2, replaces attacks: touch; remove 30 damage from a living character)
Force Stun (Force 1, usable only on this character's turn: range 6; target living enemy is considered activated this round; save 11)

Commander Effect:
Each wounded Unique ally with a Force rating within 6 squares gets +4 Attack against adjacent enemies.

Not that I wanna see it but wouldn't Han Solo be a 3 faction piece? Imps, NR and Rebel? I hope the Sith get more than 1 person. An Epic Darth Bane and an Epic Darth Caedus would be amazing. A new character even in this group with Darth Andeddu would be sweet. And I don't know why anyone would be angry with an Epic Apprentice redeemed. He was represented very well in The Force Unleashed, and seemed very worth an Epic piece. I'm still most interested in what OR piece is going to be used. With the options being endless really. i keep hearing about Saeste Shan? What did he/she do that was so great? I'm gonna look it up on Wookiepedia, but sometimes its best just to hear it from somone.

Jedi Grand Master Satele Shan is the Jedi in the clip above

That works for me. Cool

Actually this is even before she became grand master...

She could be twice as powerful by the time she actually becomes a character in the VG

my NR speculation would definitely be Seba. I mean, Luke basically made her Grand Master since he had to go away and she would be able to be quite powerful too.... A long shot would Be Mara Jade or mAYbe a Kyp....

Nice that does fit her quite well. Ah now how to make it worth 60 more points Haha. I do hope this gets made one day.

Ok - guesses.

3 new characters: They're surely EU characters. Someone from OR, Vong, and Mandalorians. I don't know enough EU to hazard a guess. (Maybe a Sep from the cartoon series?)

Triple Affinity - Palpatine's Sep/Rep/Imp/Sith character. (Pick 3.)

NR - Gotta be Luke. Grand Master Luke at 115 points is surely not epic enough to compete with a 160 point anybody. And Luke deserves to be able to go toe to toe with anyone.

Sith - Darth Bane (one of the characters making a 2nd appearance)

Rebel - Yoda. Who else could be epic here? Unless there's a Han AND Chewie figure. Or a Leia with ridiculous diplomatic powers. (Superior Diplomat - This character may not be targeted unless the enemy is the first enemy to be activated this round, is exactly 6 spaces away, in low objects, adjacent to a door, and does not have line of sight to any other ally.) Or an Obi-Wan with ridiculous Force Spirit. (Force Spirit Win - Once per game, immediately before any die roll, you may declare that you are using Force Spirit Win. If Obi-Wan is defeated as a result of that die roll, you immediately win. "More powerful than you could possibly imagine.")

Imperial - Vader or Starkiller. Should be Vader.

Separatist - Dooku.

Republic - Mace or Obi-Wan. Tough call. Or Yoda if he's not the Rebel choice. I'd have assumed Mace except there's a new Mace in the regular set, and 2 new Maces at once seems unlikely. So I'll guess Obi-Wan.

Fringe - Boba Fett. And the other character making his second appearance: Cad Bane.

It's not worth 60, but earlier drafts had Pawn of the Dark Side and Master of the Force. Give her maybe FR2, MotF3, Pawn of the Dark Side, multiple heal options, Essence of Life, better stats, and maybe a commander effect that has a damage buff and I think you're getting close...

The Celestials were the ones that Built Centerpoint Station, this appears to have been to keep Abeloth captive.
So Abeloth would fit the Fringe since she uses everyone body for her own purpose.

Eehhh.....I guess any way
OR - Not giving ANYTHING away by saying this, but based on my name I think Ill like this mini.
Sith - Darth Bane (Please...?)
Republic- Know 1 of them so I wont guess either)
Seppies - I would think grievous, dooku was just a strong dark jedi, he did most of the 'behind the desk stuff'
Rebels - Also, know who this one is
Imperials - Starkillers strong, but if there is no epic vader in Epic Set 1 there's something wrong
NR - Luke, or possibly cade?
Vong - Read the first 4 book and so far every one has died...so no guesses...
Mandos - I don't know enough about Mandos for this.
Fringe - Gotta be boba fett, same case as vader
3 Facton Person - I know who it be ;-)

OK when it was said that one of the characters could be in any one of three factions, were they saying that such a character is already on three factions, such as Palpatine or someone new?

I know of the characters. Rebel and Sith. so cannot comment on these.

As for the others

OR Nomi Sunrider, Master Thon or Satele Shan are most likely as they were the most powerful characters at some point. Others like Arca Jeff were powerful but not to the same degree as the ones I have mentioned. Others that became very powerful like Revan did not do so until they became Sith. So should not really be Epic old republic.

Sith ----Pass as I already know who it is.

Separatists. Well from my point of view it can only be Sidious or Tyranus

Republic. Only Yoda really as he was more than Mace and Anikin did not reach hes potential until he became Vader. If we get more than one Republic I think the other will be one of the ones I mention.

Rebel----Pass as I already know who it is.

Imperial. Emperor, Emperor Reborn, or Vader. A slight possibility it could be Thrawn, he was powerful in a different sort of way. Somehow i doubt it though.

NR. Luke not sure it can be anyone else.

Yuzzhan Vong. Overlord Shimrra or the Warmaster, again not sure it can be anyone else.

Mando's Do not know enough to say one way or the other. I think though it will be one of the unique ones we already have.

Fringe. Well fringe is perhaps the hardest to think off as it can be anyone from any time line. Boba Fett I think will be one, not because I personally think he was powerful but because he is a fan favorite. Though not a favorite of mine.

So, now that the characters have been spoiled over on the SHNN, what do we think of the EPIC set? I like some of the choices made, but disagree with the Rebel one. I just don't particularly feel this particular person was EPIC at this point in time.

I totally agree. We can talk more about it when the names are released in the forums, but the Rebel one is all wrong!
