Cool.. I hope the new One is a success. I just won't be along for the ride and thats ok. Yeah, I'm not particularly interested in either of the games FFG has announced so far either. I just figure at some point, if the v-set project gets shut down by outside forces, there will be cries of "why?! It wasn't competing with FFG!" But in a way, it is, by keeping people satisfied with what they've already bought, rather than trying something new. However, I rather suspect that what FFG puts out will be enough of a success, especially compared to what's probably a relatively small group still playing SWM, that there won't be much of an issue. I agree too. I might add that fro me, even if there were no vsets, I probably won't invest money in a totally new game with new game mechanics and all. I still have a few pieces of the SWMinis I need. The minis for me was as much about collecting as playing... I'm some what of a completionist....... I know........ Its A disease

Yeah, i had a minute to talk to Steve, owner of Miniature Market, at GenCon, he said that the miniature game was going to be bubble boostered, like the later D&D stuff was. I wasn't sure that if he meant the X-wing Game, or if he was talking about a skirmish miniature game at the time... but in the context of the conversation (in my eyes), it sounded like there was a miniatures game (non-spaceship) expected.. so I guess we'll see.

I played the demo of the ship game. It was just awful. Movement was pretty predictable and there was a lot of dice rolling but not too much strategy. Hopefully there was more to the game than what they were showing but from what I played of it, it would only be fun for about 10 minutes (which I will admit is 9 minutes more fun than Starship Battles is/was).
I didn't even bother to play the card game, but I did watch. A cooperative game where everyone plays the Rebels on a raid? No thanks.
