Play Embo a couple times and you will change your tune imo. Being able to bypass all charaters is huge for swap squads. His bag of tricks is so nice. And he has an auto defense against shooters. Soooo good. Only downside is his attack.

Ok, I am just going to ask. Can we move this discussion of the abilities, their number, their scope, and complexity to its own thread? It appears, to me, this is now less about spoilers and discussion of said spoiler and more about thought process and the relative complexity to newer players. It is merely a suggestion.

Interesting piece. Force Stun is a useful addition to the faction. Gregarious and Melee Duelist are quite fitting. The CE certainly makes troops more appealing. Now, who to use? New Republic Elite Trooper or Galactic Alliance Special Guard?

I like Hamner, a solid Jedi with a good commander effect. I like the effort to make NR Troopers a solid option. Hamner with the GAS-G seems like a fun build. Always have the damage bump via Cunning or Opportunist. And the great thing about the GAS-G is with the built in Opportunist they now have access to Cunning, Advantageous and Deceptive. I'm looking forward to trying Hamner out in a squad with them.

While his faction could use the trooper support, Its just a CE that i've seen too many times to get excited about it anymore. Not bad, just nothing to tickle my fancy.

I can see that. It isn't exactly busting down the exciting door. And Kenth isn't exactly doing a lot of damage on his own (max 60?) But I think troopers using Cunning, then him stunning people could be a nice, fun little combo to slow down some squads. Throw in Jolee Bindo for more stun/another Attack Boost for troopers and they might actually do ok. I might have to try this...

EDIT: OH and also, I love the NR so I get really excited about every new piece they get Love

Agreed. Not flashy. A glue piece that doesn't see action until clean up.

I like him, simple yet effective. As he was supposed to be as acting grandmaster. Now we just need Saba so they can fight!

Given his CE, this is Hamner during the YV war. I certainly hope this isn't as acting Grand Master.

Yeah, this is supposed to before he was Grand Master. If we had been able to keep the Flavor Text on the card, it would have cemented the piece as during the YV War. So as a small "treat", here's the planned FT that had to get cut:
"Jedi are bound by a great many duties, often contradictory." [it's a line from Dark Nest I]

Ha ha Ah Roger that then, I concede, I still liked him best as grandmaster though but cool to see the piece regardless

You guys have to make a Grandmaster version, just for this:

"Kenth Hamner? Was he chosen because he's the dullest Jedi ever? He says two sentences and it puts Kowakian monkey-lizards to sleep."

I agree that the CE isn't flashy or novel. However, a damage bonus was needed for the faction, and I contend still is for melee pieces. This is a perfect example of how you can't please everyone. We are complaining about the use of an old CE here but complain in another thread about new abilities. Confused

If it's accurate, balanced and reasonably simple, especially if filling a faction need, who cares if it's new or old?

Hey I liked him, it's refreshing to have simple yet effective lives amongst all the flashy new. He fits the character and game perfectly and good job designers!
