So just as an idea , has anyone thought of adding a new faction? Like maybe the Chiss? I don't know if enough info exists to make it work but it'd be impressive.

Pitched the idea a while ago and it was pretty unanimously shot down. It general consensus is that now finally with the V-sets the game is reaching balance for factions which we did not have when we were left with what wizards gave us, and most dont wish to add another faction and disrupt the balance again.

Not being open to knew ideas lead to the fall of the jedi it did. Perhaps enthusiasm will build in the future and a new faction could be released in small chunks instead of a tiny trickle as I remember with the vong.

I don't think we'd see another faction unless we saw a major new plotline. Major as in more movies or a new TV show. Or maybe another 12-book series like the Vong.

Here's the problem, a new faction opens up do many problems in game design. We still have a large list of figs that people want with the existing factions. The problem with designing a new faction now, is that we would pretty much have to design it squad by squad. I don't like that idea, I prefer opening things up to the players, giving them options. And even with Vong, we are starting to scrape the bottom of who to make. And I'm sorry, but there has not been enough material for a new faction to be justified. Most of what people are suggesting fits in fine with the current factions.

Lightsaber Deflect should be more powerful than Evade, so...
Master Lightsaber Deflect - Force 0: When hit by a nonmelee attack, this character takes no damage with a save of 6. Using this power counts as spending force points.

+1 I hope people will want to go that way one day I have been after one for awhile now, especially with the new dawn of the Jedi series. As far as new factions/sub factions go: Old Republic -> Je'dai (maybe could be tossed in here, though better as their own to offset Rakattan) Sith -> lost tribe of the sith Seps -> Maul/Opress maybe??? Death watch for hire, geonosians, nightsisters Republic -> More or Kal Skirata's Republic Commando bunch, other orders Grey Paladins, Jedi agriculture, etc.. Imperial ->Chiss, hand of the empire, Roan Fel's maybe???, more warlords with rival, nightsisters, NK1 Necrosis (please!!! Hahaha one droid faction haha), Imperial Mission New Republic -> Galactic Alliance, Hapan (they could also be special fringe) Vong -> Shamed ones (this is untapped and cold use a huge boost with a new Nom and super cheap slaves and shamed one) Mando ->death watch, hippie peace mandos with Satine Fringe -> Hapans, killiks, beasts (specialty pieces like Sarlac pit, Dianoga, krayt dragon, etc...) And finally: Abeloth Make her a one piece faction that is only for special play, like Galactus from heroclix or something. Just epic boss piece.

An ability for a new Lobot that can automatically trigger Reserves at that crucial moment:
Reserves Coordinator: Once per skirmish, after initiative is determined, regardless of your initiative roll you may use one ally's Reserves ability at half of the stated value. The ally loses the Reserves ability for the rest of the skirmish. The Reserves characters may be placed normally or placed adjacent to this character.

As I said earlier, I don't think we need a new faction, and we wouldn't unless something really major like a new movie/TV show/huge book series came out. But... here's an idea to enforce sub-factions more strongly. For example: Clique Black Sun: This character may only be in a squad with 3 or more other Black Sun characters. Use Clique for any other sub-faction and adjust 3 to whatever number seems appropriate.

These have all been stated in this thread previously but have all been on my mind in the past.
Darth Talon (please! I love her sculpt but I never use it for obvious reasons!) Darth Caedus (rapport w/ NR non-uniques would be nice) Coleman Trebor Talon Karrde NR K'kruhk I like the idea of some more remakes of NR characters but at the same time don't like the idea of remaking everything. The problem is where do we stop. Wolf Sazen, Shado Vao and others never see the light of day (nor should they at those point costs). Same goes for much of the Sith. This was a WotC created issue and should probably be addressed slowly over time. If it takes another 2-3 years to update a slew of deserving significant EU characters so that we have playable versions I'm down with that. Just not too much too quickly. It would probably cheapen things.
Biggsy's idea of a Sep Holo Sid is excellent. Like he said, what a great way to boost living Seps!
Also, some huge's with stable footing or some other ability that wouldn't kill their ability to move easily would be outstanding. Take the Junk Golem for instance. It was on Raxus Prime, a junk planet, and had no mobility issues when attacking the Apprentice. Huge's need love.

Oh and I LOVE the idea of an Epic Grievous Wheelbike that can allow an existing Grievous character to dismount from the bike before it is defeated. I remember somebody floating that idea 1-2 sets ago and think it is brilliant!
