Jim and I finished our game 2 tonight. Final score was 200-41 with Mando winning. 3pts for Mando, 0pt for Darth Jim Map roll was won by Jim and we played on Throne Room and he defered side to me, so i set up on the right side. My squad was: http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/223875/obikin-dume-bot--Obikin Dume Bot-- 85 Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker 39 Quinlan Vos, Double Agent 29 Aayla Secura, Jedi Knight 22 Caleb Dume, Jedi Padawan 11 Jedi Holocron 9 R2-D2, Astromech Droid 5 Spaarti Clone Trooper Demolitionist (200pts. 7 activations) Darth Jim's squad was: http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/216163/disintegrations--Disintegrations-- 61 Darth Vader, Legacy of the Force 62 Boba Fett, Bounty Hunter 27 Wilhuff Tarkin 18 Twi'lek Black Sun Vigo 8 Mas Amedda 8 R7 Astromech Droid 5 Porg 5 Salacious Crumb 6 Ugnaught Demolitionist x2 (200pts. 10 activations) Crazy match! I was really nervous coming into the matchup because Boba had that chance to completely disintegrate my people in one shot regardless if i was successful with Soresu Style. Jim started rolling crits.....but not with Boba. He Had 2 crits from Vader which landed on Obikin who had to take the full 80 dmg since they failled the SSM and the lightsaber defense saves. The TBSV got a crit and so did Tarkin. All his guys were making crits except the one person who needed to and that was what really made the difference. I took out Vader relatively quickly with a one two punch of Quinlan Vos and ObiKin. Obikin held onto the Holocron the whole match which gave them access to Lightsaber Assault, so they could do 100 dmg total per turn. After Vader was gone, Boba didn't have the extra 2 attacks to try and crit my jedi, so i felt a lot more safe but still on the edge of my seat. Aayla was really useful with her force pulls giving Quinlan Vos his ataru style mastery against Vader and Tarkin on two seperate occasions. Caleb ran interference for the most part. Boba took out R2 early in the second round which was hard to watch as it took my good movement breaker and door overide. Caleb took out the R7 so it made it even with regards to the door control at least. Fun game and Jim is a world class player and a really great guy to get to play a game with! Funniest moment in the game was when Jim's Porg replaced his attacks to take out my Holocrons last 2 fps, thereby getting rid of my access to Lightsaber assault. The Spaarti soon after prepared some BBQ porg over the fire pit. memorable moments like that are what makes this game so great!

Congrats to Mando, who will be facing urbanjedi in the finals!
We still have one match left, but it doesn't effect the finals.

Now to the fun twist for the finals!
Here is what our 2 finalists played:
urbanjedi (7-3)
round 1 (vs Darth_O) Mandalorians (W) Fringe (W)
round 2 (vs TimmerB123) New Republic (W) Separatists (L)
round 3 (vs Mando) Rebels (W) Imperials (L)
round 4 (vs Darth_Jim) Separatists (L) New Republic (W)
round 5 (vs thereisnotry) Mandalorians (W) Fringe (W)
Fringe x2 (W,W) Mandalorians x2 (W,W) New Republic x2 (W,W) Rebels x1 (W) Imperials x1 (L) Separatists x2 (L,L)
Factions played: 6 Not Played: Sith, Old Republic, Republic, Yuuzhan Vong
Mando (6-4)
round 1 (vs thereisnotry) Old Republic (L) Yuuzhan Vong (W)
round 2 (vs Darth_O) Rebels (W) Mandalorians (W)
round 3 (vs urbanjedi) Separatists (L) New Republic (W)
round 4 (vs TimmerB123) Yuuzhan Vong (W) Rebels (L)
round 5 (vs Darth_Jim) Separatists (L) Republic (W)
Yuuzhan Vong x2 (W,W) Mandalorians x1 (W) New Republic x1 (W) Republic x1 (W) Rebels x2 (W,L) Old Republic x1 (L) Separatists x2 (L,L)
Factions played: 7 Not Played: Sith, Fringe, Imperials
So since each did not play 2 Darkside factions, they are even. They must play a Darkside faction they have NOT played yet in this tournament. (had either played all 5, they would have all available again)
urbanjedi MUST play for his Darkside squad: Either Sith or Yuuzhan Vong
Mando MUST play for his Darkside squad: Either Sith or Imperials
Now here is where it gets interesting.
Mando played all but ONE Lightside Faction. urbanjedi did not play TWO Lightside factions. Advantage: Mando
So - here's how this will work -
Mando can either play Fringe (the Lightside faction he did not play), -OR- one of the other 4 factions, chosen by urbanjedi. So he will have 2 choices.
urbanjedi on the other hand, did not play Old Republic or Republic. Mando gets to nix one of those two and urbanjedi MUST play the other.
So -
Mando - send a bloomail to me telling me which faction urbanjedi CANNOT play (and thus he must play the remaining), between Old Republic or Republic
urbanjedi - send a bloomail to me telling me which faction Mando has an option to play IN ADDITION to Fringe. Choose Old Republic, Republic, Rebels or New Republic.
Once I get both entries, I will post the responses.
Gentlemen you have until midnight tomorrow (Thursday, 05/13) to send me your answers.
If these 2 games get split (W/L only, no points here) - we have a 3rd final FINALS game with another twist to decide it all!

I'd like to wish good luck to both Jason and Trevor in the finals. Both have had a great league and deserve to be there. I am pleased to finish 5-5 and got to test out a number of squads during the duration of the league. Special thanks to Tim for organizing this... its been a lot of fun and a great idea.
Question for all of you players out there. Was my porg the first porg ever to register a kill? If not, maybe we need a porg kills thread lol.

I think that porg secretely wanted to become a Jedi and sought the knowledge from the Holocron only to find it was to heavy to fly away with, so he dropped it. While he was contemplating how to find another one and fulfill his dream of become a Porg Jedi master and starting a jedi academy on Ahch-To and teach a handful of Porglings, a lone hungry Spaarti Clone with some A-1 BBQ sauce snuck up on him and....

The faction choices are set for the finals! urbanjedi MUST play for his Lightside squad: Old Republic (Mando nixed Republic). Mando MUST play for his Lightside squad: Either Fringe or New Republic (faction chosen by urbanjedi). urbanjedi MUST play for his Darkside squad: Either Sith or Yuuzhan VongMando MUST play for his Darkside squad: Either Sith or ImperialsQuote:Mando's Sith or Imperials vs urbanjedi's Old Republic
urbanjedi's Sith or Yuuzhan Vong vs Mando's Fringe or New Republic
Gentlemen I will leave it to you to set your own match times. Same procedure as the earlier rounds. Best of luck, and may you both find balance in The Force!

The last game of the regular rounds was played last night with Darth_O's Mandalorians crushing TimmerB123's Rebels 200-42.
Most games were lopsided scores, even while many being reported closer than the score. only 8/30 games the losing player scored 100 or more to get a point.
EVERY game finished. I know some were very close to time, but nonetheless there wasn't a single 2pt win (unfinished game). I personally had at least a couple that completed while finishing the last round after time was called, but that still counts. 75 minutes really is the correct time for 200pt games now. That needs to stay the standard.
In the end all of the players' records were't terribly far from .500
2 at .500, 2 one game off from .500, and 2 two games off from .500. Not horribly surprising considering 6 top players all playing each other x2 each. In fact, the vast majority of matchups were split 1-1.
Fringe is clearly dominant, with it's only loss coming from a pseudo-faction (Mandalorian) squad that plays like all-Fringe. NR also had a very strong showing only losing to Yuuzhan Vong.
It was surprising to see that Imperials, often viewed as the strongest faction, stunk up the place. Separatists were't quite as bad as their 0-7 showing, as some games were close, but it is hard to deny they still need help.
Take out Seps and Fringe (top and bottom), and it's a fairly even spread for Lightside vs Darkside.
I will definitely run this format again, I certainly had fun with it and it feels like most everyone else did as well. Great way to run a variety of top tier squads while still having a theme and fun twist. Thanks to all the players!
Look forward to seeing how these finals play out.

I flippin WASTED Tim 3-0 on Ravaged Base with my Mandos vs his crappy Rebels squad. My epic squad: http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/219140/dashboard-confessional67 The Mandalorian (Din Djarin) and the Child 58 Mandalore the Vindicated 32 Venku Skirata 28 Kelborn 12 Mandalorian Demolitionist x2 3 Ugnaught Demolitionist Tim's lousy squad: http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/224000/rogue-one---corporal-punishment31 Jyn Erso 26 Captain Cassian Andor 25 Baze Malbus 24 K-2SO 21 Ewok Battle Wagon 18 Sergeant Melshi 16 Rogue One Marine 14 General Rieekan 12 See-Threepio (C-3PO) 8 R2-D2 5 Killik Drone I'm just kidding around - Tim had Din Djarin down to 40HP, Vindicated and Kelborn to 70 and Venku dead. He got a double Missiles 30 off with Baze, but wasn't able to use double Grenades 30 off due to Counter Push. In general my rolls were hot, especially with Venku's Deflect saves. This meant he could stick around to kill Jyn and Cassian. There was no way for Tim to prevent Din Djarin from using Cable Grab and Whistling Birds to kills R2 and C-3PO. The final score was 200-42.

Game 2 of the finals match against Urbanjedi Final score: 229-197. 2pt for Mando, 0pt for urban per finals scoring rules. Map choice was won by me so i went with Starport terminal. My squad: http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/224387/embolical-corde--hutt-cartel-edition---Embolical Corde (Hutt Cartel edition)-- 43 Jabba Desilijic Tiure 42 Embo 31 Morrigan Corde 28 Mira of Nar Shaddaa 20 Bib Fortuna, Majordomo 18 Devaronian Assassin 12 Rodian Assassin 8 R7 Astromech Droid 3 Mouse Droid 3 Rodian Brute (208pts. 10 activations) reinforcements: Greedo, BH and uggie demo Urbanjedi's squad: http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/213252/there-is-no-tri--chicago-20-vassal-regional-winner---there is no tri (chicago 20 vassal regional winner)-- 50 Darth Nihilus, Lord of Hunger 32 Darth Sion, Lord of Pain 38 Darth Traya, Lord of Betrayal 40 Sith Assasin of Malachor V 18 Dark Force Nexus 12 Sith Ordnance Specialist x2 6 Ugnaught Demolitionist x2 3 XT-6 Droid (199pts. 10 activations) What a game! After my game 1 blowout loss vs Jason with my own Sith squad against his Army of Light, i needed this win to make it even and get to a game 3. this was super close at the end and it all came down to my Devorian Asassin getting the damage on Nihilus to seal the deal. Sion just...wouldn't...die! he lived so long and was annoying for so long that it really made this game closer than it should have. I killed Traya early on with an Embo/Morrigan deep strike. I did get a fortunate crit from Embo to get her down to 80hp and Morrigan finished her off with 80dmg on her twin. Jason's saves were good in this game and his Nihilus was able to eat his way through my guys with his hunger (poor Bib got eaten!) and lightning. Intense match up til the end! Good game and Jason played his squad very well! Looking forward to seeing what Tim has in store for us in game 3 of the finals!

game 1 of the lightside vs darkside finals I played "in the army now" http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/198058/in-the-army-nowMando played http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/223819/the-sith-eternalI won map and took cantina. He set up on the right and I set up on the left. I don't remember the exact order of events, but I ran in satele with an assault at the end of round 1, plus the senator cannon shot and did a ton of damage to palpatine. He did win the next init and tried to drain life, but I rolled an 18 for my save. I finished off palps and moved further away from where his guys were coming up the middle. From there it got messy. Satele survived and a won init by me let me drop a ton of damage on the BG. Satele made some parries/he missed some attacks, and my guys just kept pounding in and doing damage. Some more misses from mando, a couple parries (plus some bubbles) and his guys were all dead as the mirilan and jedi lord had finally joined the battle. Final score 200-18

It was back and forth right up until the end, and the game ended with a 20hp devaronian and his jabba (about half dead) the only characters on the board.

It comes down to 1 FINAL GAME to decide it all!For this - Light vs Dark is THROWN OUT! Our finalists can pick either light or dark BUT - the choices will be limited. urbanjedi never played Republic or Yuuzhan Vong in this tournament urbanjedi MUST play either: Republic or Yuuzhan VongMando never played Imperials, but played EVERY Lightside faction Mando MUST play either: one of TWO Lightside factions or Imperials. but wait - there's MORE!
The planets have been scorched through the epic battle of Dark vs Light. In order to find balance in the Force, you must search through the rubble of destroyed squads, and choose one to seek redemption for. Lead this defeated squad to victory to claim balance in the Force, as a Grey Jedi
I have chosen squads for each of you, that were PLAYED in this tournament, and LOST. Can you redeem a squad and lead them to victory? Choose wisely, the balance of the Force rests in your hands. urbanjedi's choices:TimmerB123's Republic (Defeated by Darth_Jim's Sith in round 1) Quote:http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/223069/could-this-work-in-republic---i-dunno--lets-see

(200pts. 10 activations) Map choices are up to the finalists, they do not have to use the same map that the vanquished player failed with. (Yes, several choices are my squads. What can I say, I lost a lot) Best of luck, and may you both find balance in The Force!

TimmerB123 wrote:Playtest report! Playtest report! I'll leave Jason to post the details, but I can tell people the results. I lost to Jason 200-56. He was playing the vong squad with the blast bug swarm. I played Darth Jims OR pilot squad. I was out activated and his vongs stealth meant I has to get close to get shots off which put me in blast bug range. I tried to pull of a couple of nice moves, but it wasn't enough to change the outcome. It was an uphill battle from the start. Congrats to Jason on the big win in game 3! Wish it had been as exciting and as close as our game 2 of the finals was but maybe next time? I'd love to do this format again! Thanks Tim for putting it together!
