Thats a lot different then Jedi Cartographer's maps. Just looking at the scale alone. These guy's product had the name Jedi Mind trick which is a wireless head set. THe room for profit on that is surely greater then the map packs. If LFL did that, and I'm sure they did, then what do they think of all the Fan Made Star Wars Items, Podcasts, and Websites.

I was referring to the list of things at the bottom that despite not having trademarked, they will sue over.. it claims dominion over "all characteristics associated with the Jedi knights not memorialized in a registered trademark ... (including) Jedi robes, the lightsaber weapon, the power to levitate objects, a telepathic oneness with other Jedi and the universe, and the ability to shoot energy beams called 'Force Lightning' from the fingertips. I wasn't commenting on the maps at all...

Just for the record, a lot of us do get it, and understand what you are going through.

The main rule for CCG is that we cannot make any cards that did not exist, or were not referenced on any existing card, at the time Decipher shut down. For an example, if you go here, and look at set 7.1, you will see a card called "Cyborg Commander, Hunter of Jedi." We can't call him "General Grievous" because there was no such card ever made. There is also a card called "Ice-Heart." We can't call it "Ysanne Isard" for the same reason. Perhaps the most ridiculous example is "Galen, Secret Apprentice" (Vader's apprentice). Why were we allowed to make that card? Because "Rebel Guard," a card from the very first set, contained the following flavor text:

"Galen Torg was selected for honor guard duty during ceremony following the Battle of Yavin. He is typical of the hard-working, unsung heroes in the Rebel Alliance."

There is a card of Thrawn, but not one of C'baoth, a cloaking device, or a Noghri. There is a card of Talon Karrde but not Mara Jade. And unless someone comes up with a clever way to describe those things with the existing body of words (and not going too far out there), there never will be. Compared to that, minis got off really easy - as far as I know there are no limitations whatsoever.

SWCCG has tread very carefully around this issue for 10 years now, and over time we have gotten more and more leniency, but Lucas could kill the whole thing at any time and we know it. So we keep on being careful.

Can you even describe the convoluted logic there? I don't get it at all.

My bad - there's no light side Mara Jade. There are dark side Arica, Mara Jade, and Mara Jade with Lightsaber (v) cards.

Why don't we call in Jimmy Carter to broker a peace deal with Bloomilk and SWMGamers to get the V-Sets posted here. He's probably got nothing better to do.

Wow, THAT restrictive huh. Well, there was a Son of Skywalker and a Daughter of Skywalker, but I believe the game ended before Episode II. Can there be a Wife of Skywalker or Mother of Skywalker? Mother apparently seems the most likely as there is a Shmi.

It's not nearly as bad as you seem to think. It is an issue with having Episode II or III and EU stuff, but that isn't a big issue with the majority of SWCCG players, especially since they can't use any images from the movies. Amidala and Mara are free to use namewise. Plenty of reasons a Light Mara hasn't and won't happen, though.
